Thanks Rob, I appreciate the reply.
I tend to only come on when I have problems it seems! I am in a months long project to trim the centre console of the car, so will be posting that when complete in hopefully a few more months.
The clutch doesn't seem to want to engage at all when the engine...
Hi guys,
I have a new problem with my car - the clutch won't allow me to select gears.
I drove to McDonald's this morning and a couple of gear changes had a slightly odd shudder when engaging, but nothing awful and the car drove fine otherwise in the 20 minute round trip.
Got home, shut the...
I used a connects 2 adapter to get it all working. I had bose companion 2 I believe. There are a couple of options on the connects 2 website, you have to find out which is right for your model, like you say.
You will need a steering stalk adapter, radio adapter, head unit adapter and the...
I'd say it's around the 5k mark, mods and upgrades don't usually increase the price of cars much, if at all unfortunately.

Is there any way it could be the window regulator? Mine went but it did still move on the switch, it just had a badly frayed wire which ruined it.
It's only around 20 quid and a couple of hours work.

I had also previously checked vagcom coding and it was fine.
A day or two after changing the clutch and brake switch, the car started working again, not sure what I changed so can't help anyone else unfortunately.

Having issues with my cruise control simply not turning on. It stopped working around a year ago and only recently have I started to look into it. I had the clutch switch error when scanning, so replaced the switch to no avail. So far I have done the following to try to get it to work:
Replaced...
Just on this point, I had a K&N which my mechanic recommended getting rid of as it was oiling up the intake manifold. I expect some of it could be from the PCV (?), but some will also be from the K&N.
He's quite against taking things away from OEM, so I'm wondering how much of a problem it...
Final update, engine repaired for a total cost of £1,675. The work was done around other things to keep costs down and took 5 weeks. The following parts were replaced:
Exhaust camshaft
Inlet camshaft
2 inlet valves
16 valve stem seals
Head gasket, cylinder head bolts
Crankshaft pulley bolts...
Got my car back after an expensive engine repair when the cam tensioner snapped.
Helped two of my friends purchase B7s as I missed mine for the 5 weeks I didn't have it. One got an Avant 2.0 TDI 140 bhp S Line, then yesterday another friend picked up a 2.0 TFSI Quattro S Line Special Edition...
They are a legal requirement, but many MOT places don't care. I took my Accord to ATS for its MOT a couple of years ago with retrofitted xenons but no washers, all got through fine.
Often they'll just check for projector lenses and move one, they should also check for the self levelling...
I agree, you can pull it outwards a bit as you screw it in, but it could do with a little more side presence.

Welcome to the forum mate, car looks very nice!
The Seat Leon Cupra R splitter costs around 50 quid and is pretty much a direct fit onto our cars. You have to do a tiny tweak, shown in this video:

Do you need electric seats initially for them to plug straight in? I only have manual with leccy lumbar support and heated, would I need a special harness?

I think Craig meant in the sense that swapping the ECU doesn't make much sense, as you can just remap your BUL Ecu and achieve the same as swapping your ECU for an S3's.
The S3 option is just more of a pain as you will probbaly need to remap for your specific mods anyway, but also need to code...
If you're not open to changing the head unit (like Rob says, will give loads more functionality, better sound, options for future speakers and amps and doesn't have a massively outdated looking interface) then amp and speakers will be your best best.
No recommendations from me, but interested...
No specific recommendations, best thing to do would be replace the head unit with an aftermarket one and wire the speakers into the amp on that, or switch the bose amps for better ones. The bose amps are pretty poor in our cars, upgrading them will give a massive sound benefit and you can move...
Another update now the whole engine has been taken apart. There is a lot of damage and lots to replace, which would cost well over £3,000 if getting new parts.
My mechanic is gonna do it in between other jobs and use second hand parts where required, but new parts will be needed in most cases...
