With barely any technical understanding/knowledge. I think Rob Smedley seriously hates him. Seen few interviews with him and Smedley wasn't impressed.

Oh Spooky, my man...:yahoo: So happy you (or anyone else) said so.

Now please say something similar about that statistics pri*k who'll report anything someone did 10-years ago but has no idea of what anyone is doing today, especially those on the race track piloting F1 cars... :sadlike:

Waiting for the radio call to the red bulls from Horner "remember what happened to Kvyat" .
Just a reminder to the pair of them that if they screw up a 1-2 there may be consequences.

It is very strange. No other engine failures from Merc enginened cars on the grid apart from Hamiltons, and he's now had 6!!! Is there something fishy about the German owned team???

The engine or engines Hamilton now has are the updated units for 2017 and not the 2016 units that Rosberg is currently running and maintaining.

OK, as with the Honda motor, it may only be the block that has changed but nevertheless it's uprated to provide more power.

In post #312 above I posted: "during the Team Principal's Press Conference Aldo Costa (current Engineering Director of the Mercedes Formula One team) refused to confirm that Rosberg would be getting the 'new' (Spa) engine"; so it would appear that there's ONLY three, now two, uprated 'Spa' engine being used at date and those are being used by Hamilton.

Being fastest is on thing but to win you have to finish: Sebastian please note... :superman:

    NALF

PS: And to think that in 2015 Red Bull were that frustrated with the power and reliability of the Renault motor that they threatened to pull out of F1 all together! Changes come fast in F1 :racer:

Ah, but Hamilton only moved onto the new updated engine with the current power plant which just went. The 5 previous engine failures were the same engine as Nico is running as are Manor, Force India and William who haven't had engine failures.

You can't make this up! Lewis has just been on the back foot the whole season, just as he gets ahead, it all goes wrong again! Guess it's just not meant to be!

It is my opinion that Rosberg has been gifted the championship, should he win in this year! Sure he was the supreme driver in Singapore, but I'm still not convinced he is the complete racing driver!

Mercedes are ONLY interested in the Constructor's Championship as that's where the £££££s is! I really don't think Mercedes care who wins the Driver's Championship and going back to the 70's it was always so. Hamilton fans will ALWAYS see it different. Hamilton wins and its 100% Hamilton. Hamilton loses then it's the ****** team, obviously.

5-days only for Hamilton to get over his grump! :sadlike:

You guys might think it's funny but RS3copilot, a Hamilton fan I remind you, gives me a smack when I laugh at Hamilton's failures... Hamilton bandage.JPG

My better half has zero interest in F1 yet always knows when Hamilton has a failure of some kind as I start my natural reaction of cheering. Can't help it...!!

Not that this means I want Rosberg to win either, I feel the same as you Jojo, yes he's quick but not a racer. Much like Damon Hill....!

It's worth pointing out that only one driver in the whole of the 1990s had to beat his team mate to become champion; and that was Damon Hill. Every other champion in that era had a team mate whose job was to play second fiddle and protect him. A much maligned and under-rated driver.

Hmmm. Think Senna and Prost might disagree there! Although they were late 80's into early 90's. Remember Prost and Hill together? I believe Prost spanked him...!! ;-)

Plus Damon's team mate the year he won was Villeneuve, who was in F1 as a rookie that year. Seem to remember Hill only winning the first race as Villeneuve had a problem with his car, squirting fluid so he had to drop back to get the car home... Plus the Williams was easily the best at that time.

That was also the year Schumacher moved to Ferrari...

So for me, the stars aligned for Hill to win. As I said, not saying he was not fast, just didn't have that racers edge...

I take your point about Senna and Prost right at the start, but how about this for a trend?

92: Mansell won nine races to Patrese's one, which came long after the title had been sewn up.
93: Prost won seven races, with Damon Hill as a rookie winning three.
94: Schumacher wins with Benetton, he has several different teammates, all of whom have instructrions to follow behind
95: See 93, except Schumacher has one team-mate, Johnny Herbert, who won once after Schumacher crashed out
96: Hill is champion having to beat Villeneuve who, although a rookie, had equal status, wins four races and finishes runner up.
97: Villenueve wins title, team mate Frentzen wins one race in which Villeneuve fails to finish
98: Hakkinen wins title, team mate Coulthard wins one race in which Hakkinen fails to finish
99: Hakkinen wins title, team mate Coulthard wins two races, one on in which Hakkinen fails to finish, the other he finishes second.

Then from 2000 to 2004, it's Schumacher at Ferrari with favoured driver status in his contract.

All very valid and demonstrating that Hill did in fact beat Villeneuve.

However, Patrese was in his final season, a swansong if you like. And remember that spectacular flip-crash at Estoril when trying to get past Berger.
Schumacher was a little bit special, like him or hate him for it.
Frentzen failed terribly to live up to expectations. Hakkinen was massively superior to Coulthard, even after his Adelaide crash.

Interesting to note that it's always the best car that wins!! Even Irvine had a shot hahahaha

Looks like Rosberg is not only winning the war on the track he is winning the mental battle which is just as important. I can't see how Hamilton thought those photos were really funny, A 10 year old might think they were funny or maybe I am just a little too old.
Lewis very downbeat on the podium and obviously not very happy.
Great race from Verstappen to finish second. Moaner of the day to Vettel for complaining about traffic and blue flags.

I'm a Lewis fan and have been since 2007, he's an emotional racer but this year I think he's let it all get to him and I can't see him overhauling Nico now unless he (Nico) has a DNF.

He looks mentally broken at the moment and he's making too many mistakes

It's a strange one. When Hamilton was with Nicole he was in a much better place, happy, mentally tough and tough on the track. As you say, since the summer break it's been one thing after another. Does he trust the team? I don't think he does. Last week was the final nail in the coffin.

Get your s**t in order off track and on track will take care of itself.

3 races to go, could be an interesting run in. Down to the last race anyone???

Yeah it was a shame when they split up, she did seem to help keep him positively focussed. I believe she wanted a family and he didn't at that time.

I think there's four races to go Scotty - US, Mexico, Brazil & Abu Dhabi

he's gotta stop snap chatting when the lights go out! i used to be a massive Lewis fan, but since he won his first championship he's really changed as a character and i have no time for him now, he's good, but no where near as good as he was

with JB bowing out next season, i may lose interest entirely with no decent british drivers left - stick to BTCC :)

Or as Ted Kravitz reported on Sunday, Scott; "during the last 3-years of the Mercedes F1 Hybrid cars Rosberg has suffered more failures than Hamilton." Now I really can't be bothered to count, maybe someone can/will, but that's what he said; followed by "Hamilton may come to regret turning AGAINST the press as others tried (Senna, Prost, etc) and came to regret it."

For sure Kevin Eason in today's The Times is not as supportive as he was 2-weeks ago and that's where the 'snapchat prat' reference came from.

Haha, so basically, you support him when he's winning, and walk away if he's losing!

Nowhere near as good as he was? Pull the other one! If anything, Nico has improved, not Lewis has lost his speed! Had his engine not let go in Malaysia, whilst leading the race comfortably... He wouldn't have been in this position. Mercedes have failed him.

If you think of the amount of points he's lost from the engine failure or bad luck, whatever you want to call it? And he was still in the position to fight for the championship, what else can he do right?

The whole snapchat thing has been blown out of proportion by the press in my opinion, it's also been magnified by the fact that his chances of winning this years championship is fading quick! The press are having a field day, kicking a man whilst he's down!

Ok, enough of defending Lewis now, and yes, I'm a fanboy! I have his autograph. Lol

The championship is now officially Nico's to lose! Good luck to him. :racer:

My lack of love for Lewis has been since he won his first championship, something changed with him after that (he became famous)

He is a great driver but I just don't think he's as good as the press and especially the brown nose sky sports bridgade make out to be

Nico and Lewis have it easy at the moment in the same well Vettel did for 2/3 of his championship winning seasons, they only really have to beat each other! Seb had it easier as the team always told Webber to let him through.

He's had bad luck this season but the majority of his starts have been appalling and his ability to overtake when behind lacking, most of which can be blamed on the car - it just seems that this season Nico is consistently able to extract the best from it

Next season will be make or break for me, the last three years have been boring and the decline of McLaren hard to watch

I've been more into BTCC in the last couple of years and been to most races, it's more accessible with much closer racing and that's what I enjoy, not watching some F1 driver talking to his garage on when he can best pass people using a pit stop

BUT why are Mercedes so intent on getting Hamilton (the "Merc Berk") to win the Driver's Championship. Unlike some I believe the odds are and have been stacked against Rosberg for some time and have intimated that in previous posts and now we get this from Toto Wolff on Crash.net:

“Lewis in Malaysia he was really on a roll, dominating the weekend then obviously we let him down with an engine failure, and that was an easy one for him to bring home,” he continued.

“During the week he was OK, then all of these things around the press conferences, yesterday, whether it affects him or not, I don't think so, because it is just not his priority I guess. I wouldn't put it down to that his start didn't go well… because the racing was great after that, how he recovered was really exceptional.

“So our main emphasis will be building him up. We have 10 days it's not such a rush like last week, and he's going to come back strong in Austin.”

It's a win win situation for Mercedes now they have sealed the constructors championship! They already know it's either Lewis or Nico. If Nico wins, German driver in a Mercedes! If Lewis wins, 4 times world champion in a Mercedes! And if the latter happens, this season would be made into a frikin movie! Lol

Said before jojo; questions will be asked at Board level if that mardy-**** on mefa ££££s doesn't win the Driver Championship so I do expect the 'team' to manipulate the strategies so that "mardy-****" Hamilton does win.
