Hi all,

Managed to get a Sachs DMF/Clutch/CSC for £377. Looking for somewhere to fit it (am in Essex but can travel further afield). What sort of price would I be looking at? And any recommendations?

It's for my aging 54 plate A3 BKD 140 - now with 120k miles on the original clutch. Clutch is really low down and the first 2 inches of the pedal do nothing. I've been told this is probably the CSC but as you have to get everything off to do this, it would be best to change the Clutch/DMF at the same time too.

Cheers :)

Yep, best to do the whole lot. Ask Power Developments in Laindon and AMD at Lakeside for a price.

Considering Audi want £799 (fixed price servicing on there website), I would be curious on the costs from a independent doing it; mainly as a worry on mine, as I am coming up to 120k this week original clutch.

There is also 4Rings in Dartford, done a few bits on a mates RS.

I had my clutch and flywheel done a few months back. And yes it's best to get both done, as I've read if the DMF goes it'll take the new clutch with it. I paid something around £475 IIRC, from an independent specialist. It was first fitted with a Sachs clutch and flywheel but it gave me a really bad engine judder, so then it was replaced under warranty with a LUK kit.
