right I've rang a company this morning no names rhymes with baba court and they told me I don't need larger injectors and 80mm maf to run a custom stage 2 (so called) remap, and are asking me to buy a manual boost controller also contacted 2 other companies the only knows I know of that have a slight reputation and they said the same now am I correct in thinking the original injectors will max out? I personally know of atleast 12 others if not more than want a custom map on their agu code engine and the tuners seem to be dropping like flies i have heard it's hard to map but for the love of the sport and cars someone reputable good company fill this gap in the market pleaseeeeee,

3.8 is ****.

Nobody wants to spend the time or effort working out how to do it properly. and I can't blame them one bit.

Niki, as we all know, has the ability to do a very good job on it, but for whatever reason, he isn't doing them any more. Probably because they're ****.

Jabba did a VERY good job of mapping jardo's ME3.8 golf AGU, but that was a £480 fully custom map.

Typically, stock AGU MAF and injectors will both max out at 230-235bhp. Most cars won't exceed this anyway, and until very recently it wasn't common practise to replace these. it's only since the addition of stronger actuators, better flowing intakes, and meth that people are going past these figures and the larger MAF and injectors are needed.

Injectors and stock MAF both max out around 235hp and 187 G/S.

I'm sure Jardo said Jabbasport have an emulator and can do real time mapping on ME3.8.3 with MAF scaling for a VR6 MAF.

Yeah I'm waiting on a phone call from jabba at the minute as that is where I will be going but as you said Nick 480 pound is steep lol, I'm really thinking of sacking he a3 of. And buying an s4 2.7bi turbo as a comfy fast family car. But I really don't want to sell the a3, irritating lol thanks for the replys gentlemen

You've come this far. Be a shame to give in now for the sake of £150 or so.

For what it's worth, the map on Jardo's mk2 really is fantastic. Costly yes, but given how few people will touch 3.8 now I was impressed with the results and how it drives.

Yeah that's how I feel mate, I'm waiting on a call and I'm going to book in definitely but I have also got to get another car aswell come January baby making and all that, so this can be the toy it's between an s4 and a supra

A Supra and the A3 will be the toy? I think you have that twisted, lol.

Honestly is it worth the bother of a £500 custom tune that needs new injectors and MAF, you only have a ko3s don't you?

Are your engine mounts fudged and the motor is moving too much?

Yeah the supersize TIP rubs against the hard coolant pipe but it shouldnt work it loose

No mate I have polytek a85 in the mounts it's as stiff as ***** the current jubilee is pretty thick and it hits the housing a mm or so the one side so I'm guessing it's pushing loose as its not all on the flat surface

JCS Hi-Grip stainless are the best clips to use, for just about everything.

if it's a sensible family car you're after, S4 ticks far more boxes than a supra!

2.7TT engines are massively expensive to run though IMO, nothing like the 1.8T. most jobs are an engine out affair, and the costs are horrific.

Turns out he will map it at jab a sport but I have to take my beach buggy 12psi actuator off and use a standard k03s one as its a nightmare to map apparently, I feel like I'm loosing power here shall I do this do you recommend boys?

if they are mapping it what choice do you have
keep the a3
get it mapped and enjoy it

Erm, the stiffer actuator is what lets you rinse a ko3s to maintain boost at higher levels.

Honestly, I wouldn't bother getiing a £500 custom map unless you go Ko4-022/3 or even a hybrid k280/k300.
Its a lot of effort and expense for maybe 10hp.

A spec 1 ko3 Map on an AGU with a stock ko3s makes like 210hp.
You'd be boosting more than the map was requesting because of the stiffer actuator so you'd make more power than that anyway.

What map is on the car now?
What are you flowing G/S?

But the extra hp and torque is what helps you mid range am I right? I did think this it holds boost better and so on, I havnt got a map in the car still standard map mate and not a clue how to measure those g/s or whatever that is lol I'm still trying to learn about air flow numbers whats good and bad and so in, if you would like to enlighten me... I'm just waiting on an external DVD drive to use my vag com thing you and nick told me to buy last week

I've got an AGU spec 1 immo off ECU you can try after you get VCDS lite working if you pay postage, if you like it you can always get an Immo off spec 1 mapped ECU off Ebay for £120, if you have VCDS lite working you can at least see how the car is performing differently.

Graph below was a guy who had a ko3s on an AGU running a generic stage 1 map it made 212hp/217ft lbs
he left with 224hp/244 ft lbs stage 2 custom map

He had toyosports 2.5" catback, 2.5" decat, forge 007p, ebay silicone tip

Stock AGU with ko3 is just over 120 G/S.

Remapped AGU with ko3 is more like 150 G/S.

Divide G/S by 0.8 for a rough approximate of possible horse power.

For reference After I added the supersize tip to my ko3 she pulled 169 G/S.

Its upto you what you want from the car.
Are you insisting on going for the custom £480 map on a ko3s, all that effort and cost yet a tiny turbo, lol.

Did you swap the slave cylinder too when the clutch was done?
Bleed it, then bleed it again

Not really a clue about logging but I've got a graph up still trying to understand it and set it out into numbers I can't find boost req vs actual boost on this lite version but my maximum g/s in 3rd from 1000rpm to 6500 rpm ish was 168.1 how does this look or how do I have to open it to see the numbers dudesssss
Image

There is no actual versus requested boost on this ecu as there is no MAP sensor it doesn't know what the boost is.

You can't have a stock ecu if you have 168 G/S as the stock ecu map goes into limp mode about 160 G/S as thats the limit on that map.

Just open up the logs in excel or a csv viewer to see the data properly.
They save under the file path rosstech/logs off the top of my head.

You need to do a full throttle sweep of the rev range from say 3000 to 6800 to see the values properly ideally in 3rd or 4th to fully load tge engine.
Obvious this has to done on a closed private road.......

Thats enough airflow for about 210hp.

Do you have a boost gauge? Whats it reading?

Do a log with the n75 unplugged too if you get a chance.

In going to say it is standard ecu as before I put any mods on it the car was ***** my escort mk3 1.8 Zetec would **** all over it and that wasn't fast lol, it boosts to 10.5psi maximum and doesn't drop off on the boost gauge, if I unplug the actuator pipe it boosts to roughly 18-22 psi but will not run like that as it judders and splutters and won't work, that is with the n75 unplugged mate it runs exactly the same with it plugged in and not plugged in which is rather strange as u have it unplugged till its remapped yet there is no difference in feel of driving and boost, maybe .5psi extra when n75 plugged in

I'm having a few hours in the laptop today to try and understand how to do logs correctly and understand it all, how do I do a full throttle sweep mate as I can't find any information on this on the net or vcds?

Full throttle sweep is burying the throttle at 3000 rpm and holding it there till the rev limiter kicks in, haha.

Any fault codes showing under the software? Like N75 is goosed? Lol.

Don't run the car with the actuator unplugged, you'll over spin the turbo and kill it.

No fault codes at all just a batter intermittent low I'm guessing that's a ground and an air bag everything else has been replaced and not showing faults which I thought was strange but good lol, yeah I only tried it once just because I did lol, I'll do that in a bit then can't upload the logs until I have reset password on here so can't get the log off my laptop

10.5 psi is definately actuator pressure so I'd guess your n75 isnt working!

Strange how it's not coming up as a fault I'll get another one to try, I did another 3rd gear log 172.21 g/s and 100mph exactly on the limiter 6480rpm can't get logs up for you as laptop is being a fugger, can you message me your paypal or email so I can try that ecu dude? Cheers for all the help

Did I read that correctly? People are stopping remapping AGU engines? I'm almost done collecting parts for a k04 conversion on my agu :(
