Hiya there, new to this forum but as I'm going to (hopefully) purchase my next car being a sporty Audi soon j was wondering some advice.
I'm currently 21, driving a Vauxhall astra vxr with remap and exhaustv at about 280bhp, but I want something a bit more grown up as well as still being good performance. I should hopefully have a little over the 20k mark, between 21-23. So here is my current lineup of cars and hopeful extras

B8 S4 3.0t Awe exhaust and possibly a stage 1/2 remap cheaper ins and car

B8 s5 3.0t sportback plus exhaust or coupe (nothing most expensive option) most expensive on insurance

2010-2012 s3 with awe exhaust again, plus remap pushing it with stage 2/2+ remap, probably rhe cheapest on insurance/overall cost
Orr my current fancying favourite

2012 Rs3, probably putting a remap pushing it to sub 4secs 0-60. Not sure on what exhausts are available for the rs3 (heard stock sounds beast anyway) also cheaper insurance than the s4 and s5 similar more tk s3 only being a 2.5t

I know the differences between some are little and then there are two different styles of cars here and I've waffled but I'm just wondering any opinions of people's experience with it all. I've heard the s5 is just an overpriced/overated s4. Then although yoh can get similar stats from a modified s3 to an rs3 the heap of mods and power can out stress into the 2.0t.
Sorry again for the waffle.

I think you will be hard pushed to get a member who has driven let alone owned all four cars, what do you want the car for ? occasional trackdays or just a fast car ? 8P S3 looks to be the winner as the S4 and S5 are heavy cars

Mm I knew it was a long shot to get someone with individual experience of 4 different audis. My current favourite is the Rs3. It's the second (only to the s3) cheapest in terms of insurance and fuel, the fastest of them all and still a notch cheaper than the s5 coupe. Plus even though this is usually frowned upon I actually prefer that it's a sportback. After the practicality of having 5 doors my opinion is the a3 model looks better with 5 doors. With 3 it kinda just seems like it's got an extended square butt.

I think the main decision is whether to buy the s3 outright with some money left and over time built up to spend on remaps etc etc or get the rs3 with a little bit of finance and have blistering performance outright as well as having other extras over the s3. Including the looks and sounds.

All i can say is at 21 years of age you must be filthy rich to be able to afford the insurance, IF you can get cover !!!!

B8 S4/5 with a stage 2 will get you close to the RS3 with a stage 2 I think. Looking at about 480bhp/580nm.

Although since its the highest for insurance, I cant imagine the remap will make it much better...!

RS3 with more door is IMHO a disgrace to be in only that option

Not too much so, but then I think it's more I've been used to paying a lot for insurance so turning 21 has made it low (for me). I've been driving since 17 no claims and I go through a local broker who consistently gets it cheaper for me. I've had a 1.4 corsa for first car 2 years 670 and 590. Then got my astra vxr 2.0t, this is when the ins went up for younger drivers too so, 2k first year ( loan from parents re-paid over couple months) this year was 1.4k. When I next get insurance Ill be 21 wirh 4 yrs driving same no claims.
As for being filthy rich, hell no I wish. I've just been working full time since I was 17 and worked up in my job to get better pay recently, hence why next year looking at more expensive car, will still have to get finance for few thousand.

And yeah, the ins is most on s5 and then s4 both coming in at least 250-350 more than the rs3.. without any remaps involved.

Yeah that is what I hear for 90%of the time. I think it's disgraceful for no option of both, but personally I think I'd go for 5 door still. Practicality plus like I said, IMHO I personally prefer the 5 door look on the a/s/rs3

And if anyone is interested insurance for them all when I get them is
1.4k for s5
1.27k for s4
And 950-1k for the rs3
This is all without my local broker/friend of the family that usually knocks off anywhere from 200-500.
