PS3 (highlights / lowlights):
Functionality: Blu Ray / Games Console / Media Ctr / BBC iPlayer / Vidzone / Wi-fi / easy to upgrade HDD (mine is 250Gb) / 24P video output at 1080P, HDMI 1.3a/b compliance etc...
Games of note: GT5 - eventually, GTA, Rainbow 6, CoD 4, Resistance FoM, MGS4, Big Planet..
X-Box 360 (highlights / lowlights):
Functionality: Everything appears to be an extra! Online gaming membership (extra), Wifi (extra), full 1080P support (not available), 24P video (no), Sky on demand (Yes), HDMI 1.3a/b compliance for new audio formats (No). DVD media drive - yes 1080i, not blu ray)
Games of note: Forza 3, Halo 3, CoD4, Fallout 3, Gears of War 2, Oblivion
Wii
Functionality: Wifi built in, Online gaming membership, 576P output is low, 24P video (no), TV Media on demand (No), No HDMI, Motion sensor gaming, DVD media drive - no
Games of note: Wii Sports Resort, Lego saga's, Mario Kart, Zelda
On a value level the PS3 hits the spot for me, but the X-box has some key titles and a richer online offering for core gamers. However the X-Box offering is outdated in some respects, and you have to pay too much extra for things which should be standard fare! Wii is simple and easy fun which is great for when you have guests who are great conversationalists!! I've never been a PC gamer as I use MacBooks, so if I had to put 1 in the hall of fame it would have to be the PS3 as the greatest all rounders (despite my fury with GT5)!!
