I'm lucky i didn't get one when driving my s4 home from the dealer, going from London to Plymouth. Wasn't taking any notice of my speed and was up hitting x@:::>, didn't even realise! (was very late so quiet roads) swiftly put the anchors on and paid more attention after that. it was scary how easily this car gains speed compared to my old 1.8t
Being offered the course depends entirely on how far over the limit you were caughtMight get a course with it being your first ticket.

Surely not in the UK - they'd have had your licence and probably some of your delicate body parts too !?!
...........perhaps other territories have a different process ?
Not in the UK you only go to court for DUI, red lights and drifting
