Hello,

I've recently bought a s3, it came with a militek cat back and induction kit only according to the garage, but it's turned out to have a rear anti roll bar, front anti roll bar, uprated drilled and grooved brakes too..
Basically I took it to get remapped on Saturday and the tuner said the Ecu had been locked out via the port, so I spoke to Nicholas Lawrence who loves tuning the tfis engines, he took out the Ecu and read it... He said the map had barely been touched bar they had turned up the fuel pressure to 130bar which he stated was quite high...
What I'm wondering is what is the standard pressure that a s3 operates at? And does that figure sound like it's got an uprated one on or not?, it looks standard from the outside but could possibly have autotech internals, I'm wanting to take the car to stage 2+ and don't really wanna take the pump apart or buy a new one when this one could be uprated... Anybody help? Ahah

To add to your confusion, I have the Loba hpfp on my S3 and it looks totally standard from the outside.
Can you contact the previous owner by any chance and ask the question?

I've tried to do that mate, on the log book it had been registered to a conpany since 2014, when I search the company the company has either changed names or folded, so I can't do that. Do you know what pressure your pump operates at? I would of thought pushing a standard one too much would of caused issues, I was driving it round for about 2000 miles and didn't have any problems

No I don't know the Loba pump pressure.
Another suggestion would be to take the car to a tuner who is very familiar with the hpfp. He/she would be able to identify if it has been updated by assessing the pump stroke in comparison to a standard pump. The pump would have to be removed for this inspection but the benefit is that you could have the cam follower changed. Most important on a hpfp as if it wears through you will get a mega bill. The hpfp allows mapping to increase the torque in the midrange.
As an example, last week a chap had an APR stage 1 on a sirocco with the S3 engine. It made 220 bhp and 220 ft lbs whereas my 1+ Fitted a few weeks ago made approx 330 bhp with 340 ft lbs and it was the hpfp that made the difference.
If you have the hpfp after all all you need is the downpipe for the exhaust and on APR it will make 365 bhp and 378 ft I lbs if it matches mine at stage 2+

The rail pressure on my 2+ APR S3 reaches 130 bar, give or take a couple.
If you have internals it will probably be marked on the piston if it's autotech etc. but you'll have to remove the pump to find out. That's any easy job to do and tbh is a must to check your follower if you suspect the car to be tuned. If it's standard you'll be able to pull the plunger our of the pump without undoing the nut, if it's autotech you can't as other end inside the pump is larger than the hole
The loba and APR pumps have markings on the outside of the casing, they are however all originally oem pumps adapted to increase the flow

A Sirocco with an S3 engine is a Sirocco R which has 265bhp same as an S3? Are you sure you don't mean 320 bhp with a stage 1 map

Yes, I made a mistake. I meant
320 / 320.
Sorry for any confusion.
