Revo stg 2+ with the ITG on DD rollers, somethins workin
I bet if you swapped your intake with an EVOMS, VF, PIPERCROSS, FORGE etc the figures would be very similar. I went for the EVOMS Stage 2 the stage 2 kit replaces the standard oiled cone for a dry version and an additional fine mesh "sock". Im pretty sure most filters for the S3 run oiled filters which in time will eventually knacker the maf sensor as it becomes covered in oil, this has happened to a few people im sure. Pick a CAI which you like whether it be for how it looks, the price, or beause everyone says its the best you really cant go wrong unless you buy a carbonio as they are pants IMO
Evoms Stage 2:
If it was true the inside of the intake/filter would be coated in oil surely yets its dry as a bone.
I had a good chat with Andy the tech guy at ITG about it and he explained that its not an issue
He did explain that with a dry filter the filtration isn't as good and the tiny particles that can get through are just as likely to damage the MAF.
Where you buy the stage 2 evoms from? so will mine be stage one & an oil filter?
The ITG filter he sells is oiled, he is not going to tell you an oiled filter isnt as good, he is obviously going to tell you its not an issue
The particules must be invisible to the human eye as the mesh cover is so fine i cant imagine anything gettin through it, and the filter unit is very well contructed also.
Why would regal charge an extra £30 if it wasnt worthwhile?
I bought mine from a user on here that was selling his S3 and had taken all his mods off. You can buy the stage 2 Evoms from regal, i do not know if they sell the dry filter and sock seperately tho. Link below:

I'm glad this thread came up, as i was seriously tempted by the Carbonio ... given the comments above, I'm now not so sure!
What are the issues with the Carbonio?
[Edit:] Having now searched old posts about the Carbonio and Carbon Speed intakes, it seems the general is that these are a fair bit more restrictive than a cone-type filter. Although, others do seem to think they are better than standard. I still prefer the more OEM look of the carbon intakes, as opposed to a cone, and am still tempted.

this debate has been knocked about numerous times and I'm not sure I can be @rsed going through it all again
I did consider an itg but after reading all this... Where can I get the EVOMS from??
