eps error popped up on the display the other day and didn't go off until I turned car off then started it again the light went off so charged the battery and put a odb code reader on it showed no codes so as I have read low or bad battery's can make the light come on so charging seem to have worked but I decided to put a good battery on it that my bro in law bought anyway because since having the car it seemed to be sluggish at starting so swamped the battery then left it over night and first time stating it the light came on again so charged the battery I put on the day before and the error still shows the if I turn car off and on again it goes
I know when you disconnect the battery the eps system shows a light until you drive the car a bit then goes off because it has to relearn or what ever but it stays on the eps system must work as it goes off if the car is restarted so I'm really stuck on how to fix this error has anyone experienced this at all my car is a 56 plate Audi s3 thanx in advance (ps hope that all makes sense )

Try full lock left, wait 15seconds , then full lock right

Have you tried a vcds scan? ODB reader wont neccesarily show all faults

You should try read codes when steering wheel light is on :)

hi not had the vcds on it yet ive bought a brake switch for £8 apparently that brings up the eps light and i think i slammed on on the breaks and thats when the light came on I think so before i start taking it to a garage and get rinsed for money going to try that first

I would check the electrical connections first. I had this on my TDi and everyone wanted me to buy a new rack at a cool £1000.
The connections were cleaned and the problem solved.

Eps plug that we tried ok Jake's car was on the rear of the subframe, it's a big ****** of a plug and a nightmare to separate, it's also fixed to the subframe which made it more difficult,

Seemed to work for a while though after cleaning.

My vcds scans came up with these codes looks like my haldex controller needs sorting
