In my last A4, the doors used to lock when I started driving but it doesn't do it in my new one. I'm guessing its something easily changed.
How can I get this done ?

Personally I wouldn't want that - if you felt it necessary to lock the doors while driving through the town I would just use the central locking button on the drivers door. IMO it would be safer for someone to be able to get into the vehicle in a collision where you were say knocked out, than it would be a danger from car-jacking - where I live at least!
It might be possible to change it on VAG-com though.
Dealers will charge you for any recoding, I recall VW had a special offer on a couple years back, only £30 to add the "Auto-Lock" feature to your VW Passat!!
Either get VAG-COM yourself or find a fellow forum member near you whom will I'm sure will be happy to make the changes.

james do you not have to click your key pad twice to unlock all doors if its not on then ? on mine one click opens just the drivers door 2 is all doors and boot.
along with the beep for locking, i think it was in the alarm or immobilser section, dead easy to do
all doors should unlock when in an accident that deploys the air bags.
I don't remember seeing that, must have another look.
