I have 2018 A4 Avant B9, until a few days ago has been faultless. Was parked near a pillar and my tailgate got stuck on it halfway as it was opening. To prevent any cosmetic damage I pushed down on the tailgate to stop the opening motion so that it not grind up the pillar as I moved the car forward, but now the tailgate does not work at all. The door needs to be opened and closed manually, and its not easy. The lock it still working fine via all methods, just the door does not got up or down. Also of note, the powered parcel shelf that moves in tandem with the tailgate is now stuck halfway and down not move at all, even when manually opening/closing the tailgate.
Does anyone have an idea what has happened? I cannot tell if this is a mechanical or electrical issue. Or is there a way of resetting the powered tailgate somehow?
