New front bumper fitting help

I purchased a brand new front bumper for my 09 A3 but am struggling to fit my front grill onto the bumper. I would appreciate some help. I have attached pics of the grill and bumper in question. Thanks

The part number for the grill is 8P0853651M if it helps.

on some brand new bumpers the middle section is to support the bumper when painting when thats done you have to cut the centre section out

if you look at second hand bumpers that piece is not there
