hi all,

Recently purchased a 8p and wanted to enhance performance. Not much of a car wizard but any tips on where to start and what route to go down. Already got a stage 1 map booked in but where do I go from their?

Thanks in advance folks!

Welcome to the forum @Zakkeryy.

To start of with, take at look at the preventative maintenance thread here: https://www.audi-sport.net/xf/threads/preventative-maintenance-audi-s3-bhz-cdl.341180/

Then read through some of the build threads on here - they’ll cover most of what you’ll need to know.

Where are you booked for the Stg1 map? Have a search across the forum as there is many places that offer remaps but only a few that specialise in the tfsi.

Enjoy!

As above, check the maintenance bits first and ensure the car is in good health.
If there is a fault then it will be found when tuning begins and probably cost more with additional labour and parts sourcing.

Welcome to the S3 fold, I've had mine almost a year and love it.

Hi mate! Cheers for the heads up on the above. It’s service is next month with the majority of the threes being done anyhow. Just fitted fresh ps4’s Also!

Booked in at R Tech in Nuneaton? Heard very good things!

Best choice. Their health check will let you know if there is any issues.

Keep us updated.

If the car has done a few miles, you would benefit from a walnut clean and injector service at RTech. The package including a remap is at a discounted price at RTech

Any pics of your car?

Think I saw this on their Facebook yesterday! I’ll have to see if they’ll sort me out :)

Anyone have any suggestions for an exhaust system? Is it better to stick with what I have or? Just had the PS4’s fitted... just wow

Probably the best exhaust out there is made by BCS up in St Helens. It would take the car to stage 2. You would fit it before the map.

My advice would be to get it set up properly for stg1 and live with it for a few weeks and you might find its all you need.
I ran stg1 for 6 years from new before going to stg2+.
It really depends what you want but if its speed from A-B then sort the handling out at stg1 because pretty much anything you do engine wise will be lost unless you can get the thing to go round corners.
I followed a 911 the other day on an ave A road and even at 60mph i couldn't keep up with him through the sharper bends where he was cornering flat and i was almost on 2 wheels :)
Also i would add, do as much research as you can, there is a hell of a lot of expensive kit out there that makes very little difference to your out and out performance, look for charts and graphs that back up the claims from the manufacturer from stock to their bolt on wizardry thing :)
finally factor in cost, it cost £400 to go to stg1 and another £3000 to get it to Stg 2+ and the rest if its manual ?
