Ok, so Gyeon Q2 Pure ceramic coating done on wings and bonnet. Took me about an hour I would say, maybe a bit less, but I took my time and did small areas at a time. Following some googling I found a method to apply this (as it is single coat, it is thicker than many others), so didn’t use method the instructions suggest of cross hatching the whole applicator with product and then applying.
I put one decent amount on one side, and applied in linear (either up/down or left/right) action. Then leave for 20-30 secs and then without adding more product apply small concentric circles over the same area to ensure coverage and level coat. I then wiped off with plush M/F. I used three in total that will be binned. - Was going to use el cheapo red ones, but the searches suggested plush was better. Found it really easy to remove. Now, some pics.....
Applied product to one side in a blob:
RHS wing done:
Placed cloth on windscreen to track where next:
Start of bonnet:
Almost there:
LHS Wing done:
Finished, so final shots (in garage so will be way better when outside):
Still more than 3/4 left roughly:
Massive thanks to
@jassyo06 for all his help, suggestions, and recommendations including Gyeon Q2 Pure.
I am confident I could have done this outside, as long as you have a half decent day.
Just to add, once cured I will add Gyeon Cure (supplied) as a final sealant and protector and use for maintenance, but I will leave until tomorrow as I have the luxury of having in garage overnight. If I was doing this outside I would be applying Cure straight after. Similar to what my mobile detailer did when he last coated the car.
Hope this helps some of you, questions and comments welcome.
I will of course feedback on how this performs with obligatory future beading and reflection shots
