What Detailing / Car Care Products Have You Bought / Ordered Today?

Took delivery of some Gtechniq C4.....anyone any good trips for applying to exterior plastic trim? The MINI needs done, and there is a lot of plastic to cover!

Don't apply in direct sunlight its best to apply 2 coats for an even finish let first coat cure...etc etc don't get it on the paintwork...great stuff it is

I recently cleaned all the external plastic trims on my Macan with Gtechniq W5, and then applied Gtechniq C4........very pleased with the results, but it will be interesting to see if the finish lasts up to the advertised 2 year protection. The C4 was very easy to apply, and only needed one coat.........for application, I just followed the Gtechniq instructions.

Gave it a machine polish also ceramic coated the rear using gyeon mohs then skin hard task when you've got the elements and also time against you to apply a 2 coat ceramic process coating but no matter what l do to this paint colour it's not the most rewarding to detail

C4 applied to the MINI. Only one coat, so will double up in the next week or two. Very pleased with the transformation :grimacing:

Mrs took delivery of a new Cupra Formentor last week. Gave it a coat of Waxaddict Quartz which I've had for ages as shown in photo.

But bought some Soft99 Fusso Coat yesterday so think I'll strip it all off and apply that, and also do my A4.

Might get a DA and polish my A4 prior to apply Fusso as the dealer prep left some swirl marks.

Any recommendations on DA?

Obviously won’t be using the ceramic detailer for this task. After coating will use Cure as LSP while ceramic cures

Picked up my RS3 last week and it’s gone into the detailers today for the full monty (CQuartz ceramic etc). Decided to top up on a couple of supplies…….

Meguiars Grit Guard and bucket
CarPro Reset - Intensive Car Shampoo
GYEON - Q²M Silk Dryer
Chemical Guys - Chenille Wash Mitt
Gyeon - Do Not Wash Hanger

Nothing to get excited about, but as per the thread title, that’s my news!!

It works well, just don’t over apply. Good for wheels too.

Not as good as Garage Therapy’s Sigma2 or EZ’s Chromance though. Better results but the fact that you can apply Turtlewax when damp/wet and use it pretty much as a drying aid is a good selling point.

I sold it after 5 months of ownership why? F@@k knows it was a very capable fast car with a stunning interior that Audi stopped providing in their new models

Bought some Scholl S20 for a quick machine polish of lads Clio prior to putting up for sale. Quite pleased how it’s come up given its 7 years old mind you is only done just over 13000 miles :chuncky:

Not the best of photos as it decided to rain just as I finished:sob:

Let’s revive an old thread

Ordered today …….

5L Bilt Hamber Surfex HD (apc)
5L Bilt Hamber Auto Foam.
3 x 1L Bilt Hamber spray bottles for diluting.

Ordered direct from them , works out cheaper for sure.

Recently purchased 3” backing plate for polisher with a pack of 5 3” polishing pads for the smaller areas on the S3.

Auto wheel from Bilt Hamber.

Couple of cheap but very good buys , I’d say better than detailing specific products…….
“Silver O” for chrome exhaust tips. Works really well ! £2.
Wibdowlene for the glass inside and out . Brilliant , £2.25 and better than AG Fastglass.

Few jobs coming up on the S3……
Stone chips.
Alloy refurbs.
Polish and wax.

Happy detailing ASN

Have you tried any Koch Chemie products. I'd recommend them, last year I went a bit crazy and bought about £500 quids worth and a Flex rotary for my detailing (side hobby) from Slims.

Glaco is the way forward for glass, cheap "enough" and leaves no residues. I have some bilt hamber products also, really rate those.

My latest purchase has been Koch-Chemie W0.01 Hand Wax, which if you watch detailing forensics channel is in his "top three", so it must be really good. I did however buy https://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/carbon-collective-molecule-9h-ceramic-coating (which I used to finish a ford GT40 last summer) but I like waxing the car, it's where I switch off from work/life and if I use the CC 9H then I won't get to do that anymore! :/

I can't wait for summer weather to build up some layers of the W0.01!

The GT40 was so nice to work on, challenging with all the large vents, but nothing a nano rotary couldn't solve.

I’ve not tried any KC products to be honest mate. I’ve used all sorts along the way. Still have loads to get though too , especially after the Bilt Hamber purchase !

Big fan of Scholl Concepts, Menzemma, Sonax and Fusso. Chemical Guys hexogic pads for polishing….. had my Das6 pro plus for a few years now. That was a real good buy. I could list so many ……..

Like yourself, looking forward to the good weather and some proper detailing.

Two main jobs incoming :
Refurbing 2 alloys myself. Cosmetic repair to the polished face . Bought a 3” backing plate various grits and some 2k clear in rattle cans.

Stone chips. Quite a few to do. Going to apply base coat to chips , apply sobe heat either a heat gun and then crown over with lacquer using a dabbing stick. Heat , cure , wet sand and DA polish.

Feeling confident for both jobs, I’ll post before and afters when I do the work

BTW……… that GT40 looks effin amazing
