What Car Care / Detailing Have You Done Today ?

Not as easy to spot as clean paint, but decided to hoover out the interior and clean the seats before starting work this morning.
Got the plastics and floor mats to clean on the lunch break.
A few pics (and pic of the dirty cloth!). Can't fault dodo juice supernatural leather cleaner. Easy to use and great results"]

Did you have to use the "leather sealant" after the cleaner, or have you found that the cleaner is ok on its own? I'd like to keep my SS seats looking good!

I also have the leather sealant yes! But find it lasts a good 6-8 weeks and at the moment is still plenty "waterproof" so didn't apply it this time.

I agree with @Adam14 here. I put sealent after every 6-8 weeks and clean with the cleaner in between. Like Adam has said, it lasts good 6-8 weeks. And I use my car once a week either on Friday or Saturday.

Well that was a bloomin busy evening after a day hand digging a trench for a gas main Nevertheless , the work has paid off .

Wheels washed and tyres scrubbed with TAC Systems Ultra snowfoam shampoo. Dried add cleaned with IPA. Waxed with Angelwax Bilberry Wheel Wax. Further wipe over with IPA.

Gtechniq C5 applied. Not sure if it was the colour of the wheels or the lighting conditions but found it hard to see where is applied C5. Luckily I'm a methodical type so I'm confident it applied well enough. Have a enough left over to coat the tail pipes on the A3 at some point . I do think the lint free applicators were a little meager. Would buy more next time around . Also glad I went with the 30ml bottle . Very light wipe over with an MF to even out by the C5 and that was job done . Only time will give the overall verdict I guess .

Then onto the tyres. 3 coats of TAC systems tyre dressing........ Courtesy of @Tashfeen . Thanks Tash

Initial thoughts. Love it I couldn't apply it using James method per se . Tried putting some drops on the tyre wall and leaving it a while but it just kept trying to run . Could be the shape of the tyre or me being clumsy So this is the way I applied it .

Applied a thin layer all the way around the tyre. Moved onto the next tyre and did the same . Kind of like applying a primer or undercoat layer if you like. Left for about 15 minutes. Then generously applied a good amount at 10 minute intervals around the tyre wall as if it were a clock face . Left another 5 minutes and then spread around the tyre wall untill even and smooth. After 20 minutes repeated the process. Did this for all the tyres.

I've got to say a little goes a long way, barely used much from the bottle , so can see how tash got so many coats from the amount he'd used previously .

The overall look is really good in my opinion , obviously durability add longevity only time will tell . Sat in the hallway they look bloomin good. The wheels won't go on till about 6-7pm tomorrow , so plenty of cutting time for all products . Hopefully the TAC doesnt sling .

Need some new foam applicators now though Looking forward to tomorrow and putting the new boots on the A3 .

@Adam14 - Lovely looking interior. Made all the better for your hard work mate :thumbs up:
I bought a pack with a view to clean the glass, interior as well as seats but was a bit hesitant tbh. But these won't be worse than the Halfrauds multipack and AG MF towels that I currently use . Will definitely give them a try

Yeah I use it over the top of Kamikaze infinity wax. Leaves the car very slick & a little goes a long way I apply it pretty much after every wash.

Like what you’ve achieved here buster - looks very classy and OEM+

Risky business going for aftermarket wheels, can look a bit too fast and furious if you don’t make the right choice - but I think you’ve got it right pal :thumbs up:

Couple of suggestions :whistle2:
1. Reckon you must be able to find some Audi centre caps that fit these - that will finish the job nicely
2. Might just be the pics, but does the car now look higher on your new wheels? Lowering......springs.....? :smilingimp:

Thanks Jim Spent ages considering wheel choices. As you say , very easy to end up with a "Carlos Fandango" look which I didn't want. Really like S3 twin spokes and these were quite similar in design.

Wheels and tyres are exactly the same size apart from being slightly wider and a different offset. Now ET45 , was ET51. I think it must be the photos making it look higher . My daughter's boyfriend thought it looked lower . Reckon you and Jassy are trying to tempt me .......... As now I'm thinking a 30mm drop would be perfect

Funny you should mention centre caps . I've have a set from my s line alloys. Once they've had a good detail and some C5 they're going on the wheels. Photo below.

Only issue I now have is rusty hub disorder So now that's another job on the list . Paint the hubs silver and calipers either red or traffic orange . Can't quite decide yet ......

Ok, not today, but this weekend....

Decon, clay, single stage polish of Q5 bonnet and wings. Will probably wash on Saturday PM and decon and clay. Then quick wash of bonnet and wings early on Sunday to be followed by correction, and Then applying some Gyeon Q2 Pure:

Flex XFE-15 to be used, along with CG Hex logic green pads and Sonax Profiline Perfect Finish.

Ok, minor update....

Have managed to wangle use of my neighbours garage this weekend, so that takes the weather pressure off, plus if I wash on Sat PM, could do a bit of polishing without worrying about weather or panel heat.

Oh, and another final delivery to be used (went for soft):

Use a little fairy in yer clay lube. .. Kill two burdz with the one stone mate, a garage? a head torch and yer good to go, me personally l would get the correction done in one go..... Then it's a breeze.. . For the pure .....by the time yer finished you'll be clucking .. . Like a detailing junkie to do the rest of your car...... Remember polish inspect and Admire. .. take yer time and you'll get a rhythm going with the flex... You'll be surprised how quickly you'll get it done.. ...
