S3 8l charge pipe heat wrap

Hello.

I had to remove the charge pipe. Now i can't put back the "heat shield" that was on the red silicone hose on top of the turbo.

Is it going to be a problem if i remove all of it? And drive without this heat wrap? The car is full stock except S2000 filter.
 
It gets very hot at the back of the engine especially if you are giving it some beans . Audi put it there for a reason, the OE hose is not your normal rubber hose it's a high temperature silicon one and not usually replaced as normal silicon hoses are not as good. A rubber hose would probably fail with the heat wrap on. The silicon one will fail with it off.
The short answer is put the heat wrap back on if you want the car to be reliable.
