My car has been in overnight, because it's becoming a right pain to start.
Sometimes,it's first turn of the key.
Sometimes,it churns over and over and then spews out white smoke.
The dealer phoned this morning.

"it started fine (wait for it...)...are you waiting for the glowplug light to go out before you turn the key"

Replying "No,I'm dim as ****" didn't get any response,so I replied "OF COURSE I AM"

Bottom line,no fault codes on their computer = no action.
It's just getting handed back to me as is.

Infuriating and condescending.

I would video the cr@ppy start, take the car back and play them the proof.

Surely they will then have at least proof that a problem is there and have to resolve it. Intermittent probs are the worst to resolve IMO but there must be a list of things to check in such an instance.

That's a ****** good idea actually...
Why do I never remember my mobile phone has a video function ???

DOH !

More like I'm to ****** scared to ask the wife to get up at the same time as me and film me starting the car...

;-)

Sounds like every Audi Dealer is the same... they'll fobb you off until the problem is really apparent and noticable or it's not doing what it should be.

Ach well,it came back washed and hoovered..
So,every (white diesel) cloud and that...
