Key Fob Won't Resync

Driving the other day, get out and go to lock the car with the remote, but it doesn't work anymore.

The light on the remote was still lighting up when pressing the buttons, but the car wasn't responding. I tried the resync instructions as described in the manual:

1. Press unlock button on remote
2. Insert into ignition and turn on
3. Turn off ignition and remove key
4. Press lock or unlock button on remote.

But this doesn't work at all. I've also tried changing the battery just in case.

After some Googling, I've found a method that involves two keys, but unfortunately I only have the one.

Am I doing something wrong or is it just broken?

Might be wroth trying a new battery might not be enough power in the old one.

Only one key, how long you had the car? Your best bet is to get a new key sorted asap, cant go wrong then and get both synced at same time.

Alan, I've tried a few different batteries, but that doesn't seem to resolve the issue.

Audismart, it's a friends car so they have the other key, but I use it whilst they're not in the country.
