How do you know if your car has the boot feature?
That's strange about the gearbox I would have thought it would know the engine RPM and be mapped to change at the red line if it's in sports mode.Will it change up if you lift the accelerator slightly as this would reduce the available torque.
Hope your Mrs knows about this as it could be embarrasing / dangerous if attempting an overtake and you end up not accelerating as you should.
Activated the remote bootlid closure, doubt I'd ever use it, you need to keep your finger on the remote button, and it stops midway when you let go, so some safety has gone into this function, it's nice to know it's there though.
Always used one key between me and the missus, and we lock the spare on away. She hardly drives it anyways, so probs not worth setting it up. Cheers.jojo I think the memory seats can be set to be active on key. I use one key my wife uses the other. unlock the car and hey presto the seat is in the correct position
Don't you have the original service book with all the codes on it? It's on the inside of the first page. I think the label on the chassis may have the same codes?ive got to check mine yet , asked audi but they just showed me the build spec about 28 pages of it lol
So the 14th was cancelled due to poor weather! Re-booked for today, so she's getting paint detailed as I type!I've also booked my A6 in for an exterior paint correction/detail and winter protection on the 14th from a fellow ASN member. Should look amazing afterwards.
Those front brake calipers need some treatment. I believe the rusty parts are removeable covers. A bit of paint and some nice Transfers maybe quattro logo or the Audi rings. Very clean unfortunately this time of the year it's not likely to stop like that for long
Hi, Ave had a Rs grill sitting in its Box now for a Good Few months now, & My A6 is the Same front end as urs, So my Question now that someone's changed there's is.....Can I do it without Removing the Headlights and Wheels and on my Driveway... Thanks in Advance..So attempt number 2 of fitting the RS6 grill, since I know how to take the bumper off now, it took me less than 30 minutes to take it completely off the car!
Starting with the standard look.
With the bumper off, I had to make the crash bar black, as you can see it through the honeycomb RS6 grill. My original plan was to spray it matt black, my attempts to take the crash bar off proved a mission, and I did not want to mask over the area to spray it in situ!
Decided to use a whole roll of black insulation tape instead! lol, hope it doesn't peel off anytime soon!
The area between the intercooler and condenser seems to be a leaf trap! I don't even know how it got into there?! Hands are too big to reach down to grab it, I removed a small percentage of it and left it, maybe need to drop the undertray for better access after winter?
Removing the original Grill from the bumper is the tricky bit I got stuck on the first time round, the guides says 6 torx screws, but in actual fact, there's 10 of them! All reused for the replacement RS6 grill. The original grill has around 17 clips all the way round, and the easiest way is to start from along the top corner and work your way across, before tackling the bottom. It's easier with 2 pair of hands here, but I just about managed it with loads of flat blade screwdrivers!
New Grill finally fitted onto bumper and fitted onto car, looks amazing with no numberplate!

Yes, i did it sat on the ground with wheels on. The headlamps do not need to be removed, but you may need to steer your wheels inwards, just for viewing, unless you have a mirror or an eyes of a hawk! I paid £225 off ebay, they are a bit cheaper now, I just had a look. Just search 'RS6 Grill' on ebay, and scroll down. They do a chrome version, and a black version, which is the one I went for.Nice motor
How much was the grill and where did you get it from if you don't mind me asking

What snow have you had recently ?. think we got about 10 minutes worth of decent snow about 5mm worth. Will those be winter tyres on the 20's as fitting bigger wheels with smaller side wall tyres will only make it worse. I would leave the 20's till summer and put some winter tyres on the 19's after you have fixed them up.Aaaargh! The other half kerbed one of the front alloys today in the snow! Which means I might be getting my 20" alloys sooner than later! lol
Still undecided if I should go the OEM route or the after market route? I do like the rotors style, but they are getting boring. Looking on ebay, the designs of 20" alloys seems very 'spokey', I'm after something a bit more subtle.

Just been cleaning up my tips and looking at them, they look they are literally just pushed onto the back box?? Not sure if yours look similar
Yup, I could ask a custom exhaust specialist. My only fear is do I want to generate so much heat so close to the active speaker if it needs welding into place? I know the exhaust gets hot anyways. lolMy tips look like they are a sleeve which go over the pipe exiting from the back box
Do you have a specialist exhaust place near you that could knock something up?
