So last week I scrubbed the tyres with a stiff brush as part of ther overall car detailing process. Applied two coats of Fireball Tyre Wax , the car wasnt driven till ther following day. Now on day eight...... Well all I can say is I'm really disappointed. Surely it should last longer than a week ?
My next door neighbour’s cat agrees with you mate - I took the lid off for a smell, went back in the garage and ‘my next pair of slippers’ kicked the whole bottle over the drive before I even had a chance to use it! Amazon order for night vision goggles and air rifle has been placed!
Oh really? I have been trying (not that hard) to get some fireball but been sold out, as comes so highly recommended. I am still on the megs, but saying that tyre brand does seem to make a big difference. Megs looks great on JCW p zeros, but only ok on Q5 contis.
There’s something in this - the dregs of my outgoing Megs didn’t do anything special for the Conti’s on my S3. Have to say I’m liking my new (Fireball replacement) Gyeon Q2m Tire dressing, a lot. Rich satin finish which can be layered for more depth (2 coats with a bit of sponge, 15 mins between coats to allow curing, and don’t bother to buff off) seems to work very well on Conti Sport Contact 5ps. Marketed as Si02 based, and supposed to be durable and hydrophobic (will report back on that claim once I’ve had it on for a couple of weeks without re-applying), but for now I can say it is very easy to apply and it dries/cures/bonds on the tyre as opposed to oil based gels such as the guff Megs Endurance which I liked until I knew better.
Gyeon suggest if you want increased durability you can harden it with a hair-dryer. ROFL - ain’t doing that, my neighbours think I’m bonkers enough with this car detailing lark as it is!
