The ‘Phone Booster’ that amplifies the mobile signal from a phone in the glovebox to the roof antenna is not compliant with Ofcom specifications. New cars are being delivered with it unplugged while Audi work out a fix. Seems to have messed up delivery of UK Audi’s across the board... You are lucky your car missed this nonsense.

It’s the first I’ve heard of it. Not even tried it tbh so may not be connected. I’ll try it later.

Forgot I don’t have Head Up Display either, £900 was too much and not many know that it needs a special windscreen.

Didn’t realise needed special windscreen, but I think unnecessary option (at least for that price)

Managed to turn off the soundaktor in dynamic mode this morning. Took it for drive and I think it sounds lots better. You can hear the exhaust and turbo (with sunroof open) much better than before. The pumped in engine noise was starting to annoy me.

Anyone interested in doing this will need VCDS or similar and go to engine module, installed modules, A9 - Struct Borne Sound, then adaptations and select the drop down saying volume structure-borne actuator and change value to 0.0% (mine was at 100%). I guess you could knock it down to whatever you want but I didn't bother trying it.

Good find, I wasn’t planning on doing any VCDS changes to my car, but would consider this one when I get my car. Did you find this through experimentation?

The other thing I've noticed is how easy it is to wash the car. I know a lot of people don't wash their own cars, but I do and I enjoy the process. The shape of the car, the lines etc just work. Even the fake exhausts, they wipe over and boom, they're done. Granted, they don't get dirty in the same way traditional pipes do, but considering the exhaust note & noise sounds good anyway, I think the benefits outweigh the negatives.

Agree, also enjoy washing my car, but would love more time to do it. Doesn’t take long to 2 bucket wash and dry but all the other stuff, prewash, decontaminate etc all adds time, but I am a bit OCD ‍♂️

RRP is £565 inc. VAT. I asked my dealer to do me a deal, no price confirmed yet. Will pass on what I manage to haggle.

Hi mxnrg, may I ask what price you managed to haggle in the end please, as I am looking to get the UTR fitted via Audi Milton Keynes?

Sold my RS3 today :(

Picking up a new SQ5 tomorrow... We've had a baby hence the swap. I'm gutted as I loved the RS3

I there anything out there for the new SQ5 remap wise? I feel i'll need to up the power. Also the exhaust... any way to get a louder sound? I know ABT have their offerings but all seem to be in "packs" and cost a fortune.

Oh. lastly... does the SQ5 have Apple car play?

thanks

Yes ABt tune was £3k (received a quote from them). This would increase the bhp to 425 (75 bhp) and 550nm (up by 50nm).

I have had a quote from a highly recognised tunner using a rolling road full spec and print out via odb2 interface and was £399 for exactly the same spec above. Although a little worried as Audi will know the ECU software has been altered.

Not sure on the exhaust bit..just put in dynamic all the time although the hard ride maybe a bit too much for your little one..did you spec air suspension..I did and we’ll worth it!

Has Apple play.

I couldn’t get my dealer lower than £565, though I see the RRP is now more than what I paid.

In, slightly dull, mpg news, I managed 37.7mpg on a longer trip on the motorway in Economy mode.

Economy mode does actually make a difference.

Cheers mate, they insisted on £675 until I found it advertised for £590, which the y finally agreed to match.

No Economy mode on the SQ5 ;) I managed mid 30’s indicated mpg on a 150 mile mostly motorway cruise last week, I calculated closer to 33 mpg. But was driving around 60mph most of the time in Comfort.

don't you mean efficiency mode which is what the Q5 has (dynamic, auto, comfort, offroad, efficiency, individual)

Reviving this old thread as I actually tried Efficiency mode on a 130 mile mainly motorway round trip in the SQ5. Averaged 32mpg indicated without having to drive too slowly (cruised at 70mph). The car was much more keen to disconnect the drive train and coast and throttle response was dulled quite a bit.

Overall I’m happy that I can get reasonable economy when I don’t want to rag it. Still averaging 25mpg over ~1500 miles as I do enjoy the V6 :)

1500 miles! When did you have it? Think I will clock 16000 next weekend. I am averaging about 29 per the obc over that time - most of my driving is on motorways though (M1 from M25 to j29, M25, M3)

Had the the SQ5 6 months and have driven it a lot less than I planned to. 29 mpg average is pretty solid, you’ve had it for 16 months or so right?

Yes, 16 months last week. And still absolutely love it. Can see me paying off the finance and keeping it for a good few years.

Any reason for the lack of use of yours? I do 3000 miles a year in my other station car and that barely goes out of the village!

I mainly planned to use the SQ5 for motorway trips as I have access to a Yaris Hybrid for domestic duties but have been busier with work than I anticipated. I think I’ll do a few more miles between now and the summer as I won’t have as much access to the Toyota and have a few longer trips planned in the Audi. Also I think my wife is still a bit scared of the SQ5 and will more than likely grabs the keys of the little Yaris, once she does a few trips driving the SQ5 I can see her grabbing the keys more often.

I am a bit the same currently - used to have a 14 year old 206 as my station car, and that was about all I used it for. Then upgraded to a 3 year old Fiesta eco boost which is a very nice car in its own right so I tend to use that a bit more. But as most weekends involve a trip to Hampshire or Derbyshire I am still racking up a fair few miles...

And I can confirm that the engine gets better as it loosens up...

Hello chaps. I enjoyed that as a read. Lots going from a low hatch to a taller car.

I spotted a Daytona (I think, dark grey anyway) SQ5 earlier today on the A350 in Wiltshire around lunchtime and thought it looked great. Thought this would be a better place to mention it than the spotter's thread.

If you are out that way, you might see mine next weekend....heading for somewhere between Devizes and Salisbury on the Saturday. Will be on best behaviour as will be accompanied!

It was dark when I got home. Another time when the sun comes back. :)

Same process as the A4 B9, I did mine with ODB11. The only drawback is that the headlamp switch shows the lights as being permanently on...
