Things to do for free

I'm southern, but an LFC Fan. I would support Arsenal though, if I didn't support the mighty reds!!

lol no probs, im a Villa Fan :rockwoot: And a founding member of the Anyone but Utd Fan Club :moa:

normally has a small bronze bit with a tiny hole in the top of the t-piece

the black one i bought from awesome has the small hole in the top

and the other one has the bronze/copper parts inside it as the coating is clear.

i may have two hehe

Clean ther IAT sensor, might make it idle batter, be less hesitant, improve MPG, stop jerking or stuttering, restore lost boost.

What about removing the sound insulation-type-strip-thing on the scuttle panel, was it you Welly who said that was a good idea?

the rubbery strip on the edge of the scuttle panel I think it helps keep the engine bay cool.

I thought Welly noticed a difference in IAT's on VAGCOM. I could of course be making it all up and getting confused! lol

Am'i right saying that the AGU does not have a N249?..

Something i do whenever i have vagcom open and always seems to give the car a new lease of life is... A throttle body alignment :)

You could also give the throttle body a clean if your looking for something to do....lol

Strip out the interior, improve the power to weight for free, no good if you like your creature comforts though.

I thought you got a more accurate boost reading from the FPR hose mate?

How can one feed from the same place as another be more or less accurate? Both pipes come from the same inlet manifold so I don't agree with that personally. I've ALWAYS used the DV for feeds, and will continue to do so.

I would never take a feed from the FPR hose solely in case of leaks. If one of the pipes comes off the T piece or has a split for example, that means big trouble for fueling.

Yeah mate, epic change in under bonnet temps, I couldn't believe the difference. Mine has never been back on since.

You can visibly see the heat rising out the back of the bonnet when stationary.

You don't have to remove completely, jut cutting a slot out of it along where the turbo/manifold is will make an unbelievable difference. Also helps air flow through the engine bay whilst moving...

have you got a pic of your scuttle panel, or lack of it, as it is now mate?

I never thought about the possibility of fueling issues! Im going to change mine to run off the DV this morning.

Hey guys, what's the advantages of smoothing the airbox? Is there a tutorial thread? I did a quick search but didn't get very far..

What does that rubber strip do anyways?...to stop water or sound or what??..

Yeah pretty much mate.

Is the IAT sensor located in the inlet manifold just behind the TB?

Is it just a bolt and its out? Also will carb cleaner be ok to use on it?
