My S3 has popped up saying it needs an oil change in 800 miles so I gave my local audi a call and they quoted £304 for it?! That seems steep. What's the general consensus? This is my first Audi so i'm in the dark with service pricing...
I did this with my last A3 on flexible service at 14000 miles but the S3 needs oil at 12 months/9000 miles then oil + inspection at 24 months/18000 miles.I paid £313 for oil change & inspection service at Doncaster Audi, made sense for me to do together

Service is quoted/booked by a central function by the dealer group around here, - no doubt to keep the price high. They quoted £240 for oil/filter change but discounted it to £220 'best they could do'.
Contact your local dealer direct, ask for service dept and make them an offer of what you are willing to pay. We ended up at £190 which is still expensive for what they do.
Or get a price from an independent and try to get a price match from your main dealer.
Or get it done at a local indie, disadvantage is you'll not get dealer software updates or niggling warranty work don at the same time.
Or change it yourself using a genuine filter, quality oil, reset the service indicator yourself and hope for the best in the event of a big warranty claim.
Up to 19000 miles...Flexible service is up to 19,000 miles for oil and inspection on S3 regardless. Dependent on oil quality of course, doesn't need to be done at 12 months
I think the main issue is getting the indy to give you a list of what is done that matches exactly what Audi will do?Don’t get how people are having issues with getting dealers to price match independent garages. It’s quoted on the Audi UK website and as all garages are franchises shouldn’t they be adhering to what has been said?
Personally, I'd never take my car to Kwik Fit for ANYTHING.
However, if Kwik Fit are now doing 'proper' servicing of cars that you can use to get a price match with Audi Dealers then that has to be good for all of us .... so long as Audi play ball with their price matching that is.
.....don't hold your breath!
My issue has been Cheltenham Audi only match within a certain radius and the local Indi wasn’t that much cheaper.Don’t get how people are having issues with getting dealers to price match independent garages. am not due oil change for another 3k according to my car, but am having oil and filter changed this weekend ( putting in some millers 5w40 nanodriveNT+ oil) , how do you go about the setting on the audi MMI, just wait for it to flag up in 3k then reset it or... ?
just bought oil an filter meself and taking it audi specialist , get the stamp etc.
Think you need VCDS, or similar, to reset the interval counter.
Same on PFL as far as I recall. You can reset the oil change counter with the mmi in the FL, no idea about the PFL.
Which oil and how much would we need?At the risk of becoming annoying, refer to my earlier post re supplying your own oil. The mark up at dealers is nothing short of daylight robbery.

Since having my oil changed the oil temps seem to actually be running hotter than before. is that normal?
What temp, mine was about 108 today after a 40/50 minute drive? Think I remember it being about that last summerMine too... I did wonder if it's just the change in the weather.
