Facelift MY18

Hasn't the dealer said if your getting anything extra with my18 car

That was my first question, but they said they can't say until May sadly

Ditto, but might not matter to me as looks like my build starts w/c 15th May which is last week before cut over if previous years experience is anything to go by.

Placed my order for an S3 3dr black edition in 3rd week of March with an advised delivery of June.
When I checked my order on myaudi, it looks like the order was actually placed in November as part of the Leeds Audi allocation and modified for me.

Got told last week that my delivery had slipped to end of July as I am now getting an MY18 car... no indication of what this includes though

What build week are you showing on line?

All it says is expected to begin construction 3rd July - does that equate to a build week or should it say?

That would be week 27, I'm showing June 12th, week 24.

My A3 has the same date as you. Ordered on the 20 March. Feels so far away doesn't it :(

I was lucky I ordered mine 15th march and it's in preparation now with a build date 24th April

That's crazy luck! Dealer slot?

VW insiders have info on MY18 changes for the golf. Production for MY18 begins wk22.

Surely the A3 changes must also be known internally? Don't we have anyone on the inside?

No technology pack... could it be the virtual cockpit goes standard?

More likely that if you want the Virtual Cockpit you will have to buy the Technology Pack Advanced.

To get vc that's what you have to spec now

That's what Dave is saying, it won't be standard, you'll need to spec the Tech Pack Advanced.

I daresay the VC will eventually end up a standard feature, probably not in the S3's current lifetime.

Audi won't give any options away for free , especially not the VC!

Why should they. The cars sell well enough as they are, hence the long waiting list.

Standard on my partners TT

Yeah- that was my point . People are willing to pay for very expensive options.

Could be the normal tech pack stuff is now standard and they reduce the price of tech pack advanced. Well at least some of the tech pack stuff could be.

What was in the normal pack?

Oh that's weird, its not in the configurator anymore. It's still on broker sites like carwow and drivethedeal for £995, it's everything in tech pack advanced except virtual cockpit. So MMI Navigation Plus with MMI touch (in addition to standard MMI Radio Plus), Audi Connect Infotainment Services (36-month subscription) and Audi Phone Box with wireless charging. I'm pretty sure that since the facelift that the S3 comes with Nav plus anyway so could be outdated.

Are we in the same boat thinking they will only be producing nav plus now? And maybe if we're lucky the other bits might be standard for MY18?

Yeah it seems like it. With nav plus already being standard, its just the phone box and 36 months subscription to Audi Connect with 4G. They'll probably keep the Audi connect subscription with tech pack advanced so might see phone box becoming standard. Not sure if all facelifts have a hard drive now.

That would be a sweetener. Does the nav plus require the hard drive then? I hear you can get a 12 month extension on the 3 months anyway. And I have a spare SIM to put in after that

For the pre-facelift, the standard Nav was SD card based and the Tech Pack had Nav Plus with the navigation on hard drive (only 10gb spare you could use). I'm guessing it'll have the hard drive with nav plus as standard on facelift but not sure. Weird thing is, virtual cockpit is a separate extra on the Audi Config at £450 but you can't click it and have to spec Tech Pack Advanced to get it.

I noticed that because I nearly bit the bullet and specced it but had that problem. My GF has the cockpit on her TT. It's nice but I wouldn't pay £1k+ for it. They are missing a trick not doing it for the £450 as I think it's doable for most peeps.

Let's wait and see for MY18, hopefully it will just be an individual £450 option and everyone can save £1k

I emailed my dealer contact this afternoon to see if Audi had issued the final details of the MY 18 models. He has sent me the full Audi document. As soon as I have worked through it in relation to the A3 I will post the details.

Right here goes...
For the MY 18 the following items will standard across the range:
Cruise Control
Rear Parking sensors
Auto-dimming rear view mirror
Audi Beam on S and RS models
A3 Specific...
The 1.4 TFSI COD engine will be replaced by a 1.5 TFSI COD engine with the same 150 output for both manual and s-tronic
The 2.0 TDI 150 and 184 versions will now get a 7-speed s-tronic to replace the existing 6-speed.
There will now be only one Technology Pack and this will include HDD Navigation, 3-year Audi Connect, Audi Phone Box and Virtual Cockpit but this will still be a £1395 option. No just Virtual Cockpit option!
There will be a Comfort and Sound Pack which will include Parking System Plus, B+O, Hill-hold assist and Heated front seats This will be a £995 option.

To reflect the new standard equipment the basic price or the 3dr and Sportback will increase by £400.
The Saloon will also increase by the same £400.

Included in the data is more information about the various engines, too much to add here, but if you have a specific question just let me know.

All the changes will be effective from Build Week 22

Nothing I was really looking for but rear parking sensors being standard is nice, though overdue.

Great news as I have specced comfort and sound pack so the parking will be front and rear instead of just rear and hill assist added. Do you know what the emissions are on the A3 1.5 tfsi on the s line?

So, i'm currently build week 24 so MY 2018. Have specced rear parking and auto dim mirror which are now standard. Are we expecting a price increase for MY2018?

Yes £400 across the range on standard spec. You'll be up no?

Parking £425 and auto dim mirror £125 so I'm down £150 which is fine as the car still stays below the £40k tax threshold, infact list price is down £150

The run out MY19 models should be the highest specced 8V/A3s ever made, but aren't they getting more and more expensive.... They haven't not long ago had a price increase now another one..... Where does it stop?come the next all new A3 you'll be lucky to get a S-line mode for less than £30k.....?

According to the table I've got the 1.5 TFSI Sportback in S-Line trim will be 118g/km for the manual and 114g/km for the s-tronic.
