Hi guys I'm stage 2 plus already just wondering what's need for stage 3 ??
any help would be appreciated !
thanks nick
Have a read through my build thread and that will give you a stage by stage breakdown of what's required and a rough idea of costs.
It's a bit if a read but if you have any questions I'm happy to help.
As a starter you will need a big turbo kit which will run to £5-7k and you need to ensure you've done the brakes and suspension first.
Is that it ? No need to forge it ? Any recommendation on turbo ? Also what injectors and who to map ?
After stage 2, the whole stage thing is clutching at straws. What do you want from your car is the question? My next ugrade would be larger injectors and a Loba 400 turbo,
Rick
Just to clarify for the OP, there is a LO400 and a LO4xx turbo by Loba - the second one requires injectors and can make upwards of 400 depending on other components. The LO400 is a rework of the std K04 and can just about make 400 but has a better spool than OEM. Depends what you want, power or drivability. Alex, where does the torque peak on your turbo?
Where can I get a turbo and injectors from. ?
I'm considering going stage 3 next year. However only looking to get it up to 420-430. Is the Loba turbo going to be enough and fairly hassle free to fit? Will I need to upgrade dsg clutch too or only remap it?
Perfect is revo software capable to work with this type of turbo?
Where can I get a turbo and injectors from. ?
I can supply the turbo, injectors either second hand or get them from Audi/TPS.
Rick
great stuff. Can you pm me a price both new and second for turbo and injectors please. Plus is this turbo and injectors off another Audi model ?
HiThe LO4xx would certainly get you that sort of power.
It's a relatively easy fit compared to something like mine but as Rick says it needs careful mapping.
The DSG will need mapping for the extra torque but generally you do not need an uprated clutch pack until you go beyond 440lbs torque
Hi
What is roughly the cost of doing a stage 3 with all the parts etc...
Cheers
Thanks for the info mateAhhh...just remembered....Shark's Stg 3 is equivalent to Revo Stg2+,i.e. HPFP,CAI and exhaust.
They all call the same bhp/hardware /software requirements different things....LOL.
What is best revo 2+ or shark 3?Thanks for the info mate
I'm hearing shark stage 3 from others.Custom mapped 2+
I'm hearing shark stage 3 from others.
It's confusing.
If my understand of Revo/Shark maps is correct then how can it possibly be better to take a generic or half generic map over one written to your car from scratch by someone like @Rick @ Unicorn Motor Dev. or @Paul @ Unit 9 Remaps ?
My own experience of this has been that the generic maps are good and can be tailored to some degree in terms of boost and timing etc but if you want something more to your requirements or more features then a custom map is the way to go.
Before going completely off piste I was very keen on Revo software which had served me well for some time but the scope of what is offered by the likes of Rick et al is much wider and a completely configurable solution like the Syvecs is a step again on even that.
What are TTE like?
Fair enough Alex..experience is greater than my shakey understanding lol.
I just can't help but feel why would you want to be dictated to regards which parts you need for what stage by an external company..
