After a short period I think I need to change the A3 due to different plans this year. I need roof bars now having taken up kayaking once again and I need a tow bar for bikes but not prepared to cut up the bumper for it (stupidly didnt look into this befroe buying).
Before I decide to sell or px it (will be looking for an X3, A4 or 3 / 5 series if anyone fancies a deal - btw its a 2008 A3 2.0 TDI SE s Tronic full leather, nav, heated seats etc) ;-), do the OEM roof racks sit on the roof and do NO damage whatsoever? I am wondering about buying a canoe rack and chucking the canoes on the roof but obviously don't want any damage to occur. I've never used racks apart from cars with roof bars before which raise the goods away from the roof and are easy peasy to fit.
