WHAT SHOULD I DO ABOUT REAR DISC

My son has a 2007 a3 2.0 170bhp tdi sline he is looking for rear disc the code in his book shows the 1kz which is 286mm and front 1lj 312mm the problem that we have is that most shops are saying that his car is 282mm so could somebody help and explain are the disc 286mm or 282mm as everybody wants to sell us the 282mm disc if this is the case will a 282mm disc, fit if so will it bebe ok to fit or should we go with what it shows in the book which is the 286mm thanks.

My other question is would anybody have a clue on the part number for the top strut mount kit as from looking around there seems to be to 2 different types, thanks for all your help

To be 100% on the size of the disc’s just remove one side from the front and rear and measure the diameter, only half hour job.

The difference in size is only 4mm so that means 2mm extra radius, they’ll fit ok.

Great thanks for that when i said to my son about this i felt that 4mm was nothing but as the car is his baby everything has to be perfect.

Kids Bet if you measured the existing disc it won’t be exactly 286mm.
