How come Audi only put the Speedo to 160 on the S4? My sat nav did the rest...

Doesn't the digital speedo keep going instead ?

Edit

I think it's strange how above 100 it jumps up in 20's instead of 10's for the same amount of spacing

Probably another cost cutting exercise on this so-called luxury car.

Did you notice if the speedo showed roughly the same speed as the sat nat was indicating (before the speedo maxxed out)? Or was it around 10% more? The rumour is that speedos are designed to overstate speed.

Although I'd imagine you might not have compared this at the time seeing as you must have been concentrating hard on the Autobahn or a track.

Mine goes to 300kmh. RSs show to 320. We don't have miles on the dial.

RS4 has 200 on the dial, and speedo is all electronic so the spacing is just to make it clear and readable under standard conditions, the section most people drive in, after that the detail is not as important and to allow 0 -200 (or 160 on the S4) in the circle it changes to 20mph per section.

if I was doing that, my oil temp would have gone up to 120 degrees celcius..

Get some decent oil in it and a decent filter.
Highest mine goes is 110 max.
Castrol is the way to go. Mines due soon.

Well that's the problem you see :
I have a good oil in, motul 5w40 300V, everything is fine, yet as soon as I get above 130kph, I'm above 110 degrees Celsius. There's nothing I can do, when I'm on the road, I'm always around 160kph which means 115 degrees .. I don't understand why.

Oh yea it gets to 300... :) I'm in Germany right now.. I've reached this speed.
