A few lads up here in Scotland are running stage 2+ apr, which makes about 380hp 410ft/lbs on the dyno with roughly the same hardware... The dyno talk seems to be doing it on the 1/4 mile too as they are all running around 12.1's and a few are pushing for 11's this year with some weight reduction..
Erm, who's everyone that's running 12.1's with K04 APR Stage 2+ at Crail Jack?
Certainly nobody that's been there at the last two events I can tell you that much, Even Liam with his Hybrid Turbo S3 8P was doing 12.2's last time.
I've done a 12.09 @ Crail with the Stock K04 mate, The Hybrid TTE that's in mine is ********.. and had nothing but hassle from it, TTE said they will sort it but it's all a big waiting game at least another 2-4 Weeks, pain in my ***.
Good on you, but to say everyone is that's running APR 2+ on K04 at Crail is going 12.1 just not accurate.
Sorry to hear about your Turbo, is that the final diagnosis, the turbo's not running right? What exactly's wrong with it mate?
Ah you did mention that yeah.
Surely an easy fix with a Forge one and a spring from Forge to suit?

Interesting the spring isn't strong enough! Are you running a custom map with it ?
What were you best figures on the dyno ?
I'm sure it'll get sorted . Simon at tte is very helpful .
I think Simon from TTE doesn't recommend fitting a forge actuator on their TTE420 not sure why.Ah you did mention that yeah.

Hope @TTE Si (Simon) can comment on that actuator issue
What boost were you running ? Mine came up 406 bhp and 442 lbs with 1.4 bar so may not be much different?
hmmm, Liam's best was 12.09, i run 12.12 with easy 12.2, with no weight saving n normal mid budget tyres, i believe times around 12.1 is very achievable with APR map...Erm, who's everyone that's running 12.1's with K04 APR Stage 2+ at Crail Jack?

Hoping it's rewarding for you ! Custom is way forward for this turbo but I'm waiting for apr to develop the map for tte420 as they have mentioned to me there doing . All the best with getting it sorted Liam
Sorry to hear about all the drama u got with that tte420 turbo, it's good to hear bad things as well, cos that hype about it was unbelievable...don't get me wrong, don't wanna c bad things happen to people...Ran both Custom and APR Stage 2+ v3.4
Coming up to around 2 months since this problem started, turbo came to me with the completely wrong actuator setting but the tuner I use sussed that out.
Long story short, I'd have went down a different route in hindsight.

Thanks Alex! I hope APR do make a file for the TTE420, haven't heard anything though

I called them last week and there working on it so don't think it will be long !
I'm holding off getting the custom for mine due to that call to apr . They told me they did just an install and first power was 400 bhp and 400 lbs . They are trying different things out atm so when it comes to release ( if they decide to ) they can have the hardware recommendations the same throughout . I spoke to Wayne there and agreed to call back in few weeks so will keep all updated !
Nice! Thanks for the info mate I love the APR Maps, they always seem to be the most aggressive on the market with lovely Torque figures.
No problem i Completely agree . Makes the car feel very alive. Just hope the maps out before summer ! I'm booking myself in at austec racing next sat for a dyno run to see if the cars still running consistently with figures still
Thx, I would like to know the times hybrid/BT car can do, n only then u can decide wot is the best stage to stop n just enjoy the car12.1 at stage 2+ is very good.
Stage 3 is the future though.

I'm more than happy with stage 2+ n could recommend people to save cash n stay at stage 1 or 2 if u got no plans to take it to track...
Well I don't regret going BT one bit with my MK6R. A BT is in another league to a hybrid let alone a K04. Yes you have to pay to play, but saying things like the chassis cannot cope with the power or it is better to go for a hybrid rather than a BT for the dragstrip simply isn't true. I have been through every stage in my R and have seen and been in several S3's and a BT S3/ Golf R is by far the best way to go for the dragstrip and trackdays. On the road you do lose a little low down grunt, but you simply adjust your driving style to suit and within a week you'll never look back. I agree that you will never get your money back, but anyone who goes stage 1 will lose all their money on software, with a BT it is mainly hardware, so you at least get a percentage back.
