Hey all,

Right i know there isn't MEANT to be a sump gasket for the 1.8T 20v engines but by my magic i've found one (only listed for 8 engine codes though). As far as i know only one company makes this gasket. Its not too bad on the price ether.

Thought id let you all know. As some people want to remove there sump soon.

Part Number : OP9307 (op stands for Oil Pan :))
Make : BGA ( British Gaskets)
Price : should be under £20 (with vat)

P.S - Scroll down for the applications of VAG.

we have used a white sealant from eurocarparts on a mates engine its heat resistant and I think that's what they have on them from factory.

Yeah i know but think they have designed this gasket to help out with growing numbers of "do you have a sump gasket for etc.."

Well gasket is always a better to fit & easier replaced.

they were made with a liquid gasket, ive only ever seen them be absolutely bone dry, no leaks at all etc

i suppose a replacement gasket would be good if you couldnt apply liquid gasket? good find tho because its rare!

Sticking my 2 cents in here - no chance (well, less) of that sump gasket fouling the oil pickup....
