coolant temperature problem

Hi folks,

The coolant temperature dial on my clocks wasnt working (b5 a4 2.5 tdi) so i replaced the coolant temperature sensor.
The dial is now moving a small amount, it still doesnt show the engine running at 90 degrees even after a 30 mile motorway run,

Has anyone had the same thing happen to them ? If so what was the problem ?
