    IMG_3331.JPG

The new headunit has blueteeth therefore a mic for phone calls which I've mounted in the factory place :D

    IMG_3353.JPG

I used "75x" which a search on here showed up as the best ignition live :)
Under the tray below the steering wheel .

    IMG_3416.JPG

For anyone with non bose rear amplified like me you need "PC9-401"

    IMG_3423.PNG

All done :) sound 1000000% better than what I took out , well pleased and lights up red and white like the dash clocks :D

    It's an A4 (B6) one which everyone states you have to trim , I didn't !
All I took off were the locating barbed tangs and it went straight in :)

    A small update !
1st mot due since I bought it .
Months ago I had someone put the car on VCDS to discover what was intermittently wrong with the haldex and headlight levelling .
The levelling was front sensor so I ordered one
    54C89F57-9A19-4CCA-99AD-39173D0E6C66.jpeg

Which has solved that problem :)

Haldex came up as brake light switch which I chose to ignore as the brake lights worked !

    DB7C76C0-200E-4194-9117-CABABDAD6615.jpeg

Sadly though at the time of my MOT they didn’t !!!!
Euro car parts to the rescue inside the time taken to test it so NO fail or advisory’s :D , brake lights and haldex now as they should be :D

    74D0B11C-6C7B-4B99-B89F-CD454B660080.jpeg

    Now the bad news !
Mentioned a while ago I secured myself a nice custom exhaust off a face-ache group .
While at the MOT garage we decided to chuck it on , it’s too short !!!!!
It’s going back up for sale to fund a non res miltek at least that will fit properly without bodging !

Ha ha , it was all back together when I realised I didn’t have a mount photo :)
    The mount is questionable !
It gives a lot of vibration , I LOVE how direct it’s made the gear change ,the old mount was knackered so MAY go back to a standard new one with a yellow dogbone?
It may grow on me and not being a daily could put up with it , only time will tell ?
The TIP was easier to fit than I’d anticipated, I was concerned about access down at the turbo end but using a 1/4” drive ratchet with a 7mm socket to do the jcs clip up and the same ratchet with a 2mm Allen bit made the grub screw a doddle when at the 3 o clock position.
On the road I can’t tell any difference at low to medium revs (1500-4000 rpm) however over 4500 rpm there is much less of a drop off in delivery .
Ultimately this was always meant to be a small piece of the bigger puzzle .
My end game is 350 ish bhp with a strong torque curve so breathing “will” be everything , it came up cheap so took the plunge .
It’s made a difference to my otherwise stock engine and can only help once I’ve gone hybrid k04 .

Loving this thread bud. Very inspiring and potentially costly for me as I'm hoping to get my wee S3 on the road again. Nowt wrong with it, just using the big car but that'll be getting sold in a few months. I see you have access to a garage and pit. Do you reckon I could do most of this stuff with a set of axle stands?

Yes but obviously makes it a tad harder but if your not restricted on time is no real issue .
Everything I’ve done I would do on axle stands if the pit at work want available to me !
Most of the things I’ve done have taken a LONG time as I’m constantly gathering bits when they crop up cheap !
Look at the dates between finding the double din console for no money and actually fitting it !
    A because I couldn’t decide in headunit . And
B once I did I wanted it to be as cheap as possible !
The brakes I’ve just bought were shocking but cheap . Add blasting and painting to that and a seal kit and they’ll still be cheap :)
Bit by bit is my approach .
I have stashed nearly all of the front suspension components but wound be fitting them until I have it all :D
But most importantly doing it all myself ensures it’s done properly and is also where I get the most enjoyment as my S3’s my hobby , I have a caddy van for daily use so doesn’t really matter how long it all takes :)

    Errrr no !
My S3 is in England !
My dad lives in Bali which is why I was there in June .
350 isn’t happening until I have fully sorted the chassis and done rods and valve guides and inconel valves

A shocking state and painted with no thought to masking anything whatsoever ! Still they were cheap :)
The fitter at work has some sort of blasting contraption at home so asked if he’d strip them for me ready for painting , case back in the next day done and ready for primer :D

Finally on the car complete with some Facebook group spacers (15mm)

    A2E358A8-BF0E-46C8-9FAA-E63A975788A8.jpeg

Everything was going so well until I went to connect the Leon cupra R brake pipes to the Audi hard lines that come through the inner wing !
They physically connect no problem but the round boss of the flexy won’t go through the support bracket that’s welded to the inner wing !
Anyone who reads this with any ideas would be appreciated:)

    The brembos are AMAZING !
The massive difference is almost certainly heightened as I’m convinced the old pads on the 312 set up had gone hard , they were shocking !
These however rearrange my face every time I brake hard !!!!
The postman’s just been and given me a piece of the next little mod !
I already have injector cups , phenolic spacer and injector seals ready so asap the inlet manifold will be off and wrinkle finished .
Just need to order an ultrasonic cleaner quickly !

Been umming and arrring about these for a while along with an oil top up bag for the boot , kind of just a finishing touch but kept putting it off due to cost .
This came up as an auction with free postage and won it for just £2 :)
    New and unused !!!
Oil top up next and the Audi boot bag to put it all in :D

Now the Audi is very far from a daily , infact it only gets driven 1 or 2 times a month just to remind me how slow a non turbo VW caddy actually is !!!
Twice now I’ve come to blow the cobwebs off to find the battery is flat , probably not helped by all this cold weather ?
I’ve invested in an optimiser to A stop my battery from failing and B make sure it starts when I want it too !

The main purpose of all this was the inlet spacer (thanks to @StaceyS3 ) and the WMI spacer .
Took the opportunity to finish off the JCS hi grip swap to all clips while access was good .
