bonjour all,

thinking of getting some alloys and spraying them lime green,

my best mate has done this on a corsa and it looked amazing, wondering if it would be the same on a A3?

thanks all who help :)

Tom

You could ask someone to photoshop it for you. I agree, I don't think it'll work. There was a black 8p with day-glo orange bentleys, and they just looked wrong. Audis are best kept subtle and oem+ IMO.

You want green... Buy JDM...

... Although, to be honest I have thought about orange wheels myself.... lol

There is a photo of a black A3 with green alloys and small green details dotted around the car and it looked VERY nice. It's not lime green but is still quite light. One of the most eye catching A3s I've seen to be fair, in a good way.
The most important thing is starting with the right wheels that can carry it off, its not all about the colour.

No one thought that purple wheels would look good on an A3 but N8 had the last laugh on that one, so my advice to the OP..... do like him and do your thing.

This isn't the A3/S3 I was thinking of but something along these lines is what I'm talking about. The grille might look better if it was black but for me the other bits of green look good. And murder out the rest of the car (windows, lights) with black tints and it'd be a winner....

actually quite like that Ads. looks good when it's on the outline.

N8's car was purple, the wheels were an extension of that.
Green wheels... I mean come on guys  each to their own n all that.....

His car was purple?? Think you might need new eyes mate.
Maybe akoya has a hiiiiiiiint of purple in it, but purple it is not.

And what about his red wheels before the purple?? Also worked well.

So again, regardless of colour, done right then it can look right.

Akoya is purple :D lol! Well you know what I mean.... The hints of purple and colour it appears to be in sunlight.

His red wheels while they looked OK on it, only worked for me because of the rear lights and other red bits on car - s line badges.
U look at those same red wheels on the guy who has a the grey SB and most people I think would say they look better on the grey than Akoya.

At the risk of sounding like an echo... It's all about how it's done.

Haha, I was that guy with lime green alloys on the corsa :) You'd be surprised what it looks like. Don't knock it until you've seen it! I would post a pic of the corsa to show you but there no point as it's a completely different car/make.

Lets be honest it's Lime green! I don't see any lime green on your car bro :lmfao:

The Whole Idea for me is you got to theme it out. Or should I say "Colour Code"

I think the car Interior Would have to be the same colour other wise it would look too Chav.

One of my neighbours has the local The Wheel Specialist franchise (alloy refurbing service) and his black 4x4 has massive lime green alloys on it and it looks surprisingly good. Tom, do your own thing, Dude. There's absolutely nothing wrong with doing things a little differently :icon_thumright:. If we all liked the same things and had the same style, the world would be a very boring place indeed! xx

Too right, Tom! It wouldn't look good on a set of Halford specials, but on the right alloys, it could look pretty special :icon_thumright: Paula xx

that looks awsome tbh. u gona do it lol?

They're already VW Tornado Red  but i'm tempted... My mate had green (Ford RS Green at that) BBS RS's on his Mk3 Golf Estate, absolutely slammed... looked epic

Guess it does depend on a combination of things though the wheels/ride height...
