Hi Everyone,

Currently i'm planning to retrofit the reverse camera in my a4 b9 saloon.
It seems that the reverse camera has different part numbers according to the catalog.
One is 8W8827566 and the other one is 3V0 827 566.
The 3V0 827 566 is also the one used in the a3 8v.

I wonder why there are two official camera partnumbers for the a4 b9 and what is the difference?

My guess would be that there's one for the Avant shared with the A3 that has a washer fluid connection and then one for the sedan without.

I fitted a camera in my A4 B9 Avant and it was 3V0827566M. The camera will either need to be parameterised (normally done by eBay seller) then coding (VCDS) or taken to Audi for coding prior to completion (costly).

It was also a pain in the **** to fit.

Tools:
  • erWIN manuals
  • Trim removal tools (plastic)
  • Torx screwdriver (various sizes)
  • Socket set (8 & 13mm) w/extention 3/8" & 1/4" are useful
  • Flat head screwdriver (small electrical type)
  • Long sticky thing
  • Mini blade fuse
Useful to have but not necessary:
  • Wire cutters
  • Wire strippers
  • Crimper
  • Fuse terminal (000979133E)
  • Harness tape
It took me 8 hours in two goes and rendered the car useless between the attempts. The first 4 hours was plotting the route and removing the trim. The next was wiring and returning the car to standard. Coding was quick.

Regards.
