I'm always on the look out for my next car not that i'm not happy with my A3 i love it just want more. Every day another car gets added to my list and with me only being 26 never having kids i've got quite a broad market to look to only down side i'm looking for a house.

a couple off my list
S3
Leon cupra R
TT
S4
Honda civic type R EK9
Integra Type R
Mini cooper s JCW

so was wondering what cars are people looking for next for after there A3/S3

I've got a similar list. Just getting rid of the family bus, a VW Touareg, and need something fast but 'safe'. So no Elise or Caterham ( I've got a Ducati for that)

Really tempted by a V8 S4 Avant, but curious as to an A3 3.2 DSG, or maybe even a TT coupe (chipped 225) or maybe 2 cars for the money ........ A porker and something sensible ???????

Choices, choices, choices .........

i8 went from 1.8T after 6 yrs into an S3..... checked out a good few cars before buying and still kept with the S3 and never looked back

Civic was on my list but had very little in terms of options and comfort, and was slower in acceleration

Boxster was 2 seats and i hated the interior of the years that i was looking at

TT - girls car nuff said;)

Leon cupra R - no point in going for the old one as you'd wish you'd bought an S3, the new one looks gorgeous on the outside, the inside dash looks like a cereal box with buttons mounted on it - true reflection of the cut costs to build

Mini cooper JCW - slower than S3, not very comfy and a tad girly (the misus has a Mini), go round corners on rails but nothing else to shout about

Integra - never found one in price range, old ones are impossible to come by unmollested and the new ones hadnt come down in price when i was looking

just my opinions of course with what i found when i was looking:superman:

2002ish RS6's have come down in price a fair bit, i would love one but just can't get over the ugly fog lights on the rear boot, but I'm sure I would be able to make a compromise somewhere!

Or

2003ish M3 Always loved these!

I'm saving for a Mitsibishi Evo 8 or 9 after having a go in one. Probably going to get one that's already modded to save a bit of cash. Haven't had much time for modding lately so need something good straight out of the box.

Iv just sold my ek9 for a s3!

i prefered the drive of the ek9, and it handles alot better! but its not comfitable, its like a little go kart, I loved it! depends what u want from a car to be honest!

I decided I wanted something a bit more modern and comfitable after having 3 civics

If I was to look for a new car right now it would be a V8 S4.

Oh, and an R1 or a new GSXR later this year. I love the indicators in the wing mirrors!!

Cheers,

Having just bought my S3 Late last year i always wanted an E46 M3. And they have come down in price massively!!

However i'm going to have to stick with mine for a while now especially in this financial situation.

I've driven a Bmw 335d and found that immense and a superb car......even for a diesel.286bhp std and can be mapped to well over 300bhp!!

I've drivien an S4 Cab and just the engine note makes it so appealing but it didn't feel that quick even in comparison to the 335d!!

My old man has a Maserati Gran Turismo and the engine note on that is superb but it's more of a tourer hence the GT!! But still a quick car!

Who Knows,i usually change my car nearly every year but due to me stupidly losing a load of money from doing it:keule: i'm going to keep the s3 for a while now!!

And the cars i'd defiantely go back to irrelevant of their current value would defiantely be a 306GTI-6/rallye and a my old Fabia Vrs!!

C5 RS6 all the way imo. Prices of them are rediculously low now, saw one the other day for £11999!

Don't really mined if there slower the the S3 as long as there quick enough and are good to drive,
also wouldn't mind VW golf R32 or focus RS

You really need to go out and testdrive a few cars to see what you think, I'm constantly browsing through the Pistonhead Classifieds in my daydreams. :)

Well, i've recently upgraded to a MTM'd S3, certainly a upgrade from my mk2 golf gti! Doens't handle as well though!

I looked at Cupra R's, M3's R32's etc, went for the S3 in the end as it offered a good ballance of comford, power, style etc. I agree, if you get a Curpra R, you'll just wish you saved a few etra pennies and got a S3!

Very happy with mine, haven't even considdered looking at anything else to be honest! I've always wanted a Escort Cosworth, wish I had the money to have one as a weekend car!

8L S3 is gonna be my next car, hopefully later this year, would love to own a b5 RS4 aswell, but that will def be after the S3...

I looked at a focus RS and was completely disappointed with the cheap shabby interior and huge lag it seems to give, considering it has displacement id have thought this would give less lag??

I do love S3's but got to thinking whats the point in getting one as it's going to be slighty newer then mine but with the same high mileage and quicker unless i get a new one

there is no comparison to an A3 when you consider what has been changed, if you can afford a new one id suggest you do it (i would), altho 8L S3 versus 8L A3Q..... the difference is bigger than you think

No idea really, im currently getting my mortgage deposit together and im always considering selling my S3, I love driving my pug to much

I'd love an 8P S3 next although I have thought about trying to pick up a late 2003 8L next year to replace my current pre-facelift due to the big price drop on them now.

you see i wanted a 2001-2003 M3 originally and have looked at them recently due to the price drop, love the sound of them but absolutely hate the interior with a passion...the exterior is stunning
