Times and figures are academic. It's the way the car makes you feel that really matters.
There are people (albeit very wealthy) willing to pay an extra 50k for a 0.5 sec advantage on an Aston Martin (aka DBS).
So 10k for a second is not bad if you look at it from that perspective. Plus I'm sure it didn't cost Chris 10k to have his BT fitted.
Besides a second is a hefty old gap at those speeds I think you'll find.
