Hello everyone,

Anyone know the part number for the entire oil filter housing for my 2005 Audi A3 sport 2.0 FSi 150bhp without turbo and front wheel drive. My mechanic Andy surveyed the leak today on the ramp, and it is mostly coolant leak which has been topped up and very little oil leak. A3 has been serviced last week at a VW specialist who wants £1000 and a whole day for the repair. I said no and went to Andy.

Any help with the part number would help, and if anyone sells the genuine one on this forum please contact me here on this forum. I just looked at the Audi parts data base, could not find this oil filter housing on the engine dept, maybe i am searching it wrong. Andy said i wil need the oil cooler also, the silver metal part. For the oil pressure sensor he said the current one can be transfereed to the new housing.

No problem.

Oil filter housing - 06D115397K - £217+VAT (retail) (old number was 397 J)
Oil filter housing seal - 06D115441A - £53.20+VAT (retail) (Seems to be included in the housing itself)
Oil cooler - 06D117021C - £203+VAT (retail)
Oil cooler seal - 06D117070 - £18.40+VAT (retail)

You should be able to get them aftermarket, probably from Febi but you can ask your local motor factor or search online using the numbers above. For the seals I would only use genuine.

Hello Darren,

Getting confused by the shear number of choices, in your experience, will these items be compatible for my A3 please?? Many thanks Ricky

It appears the oil filter housing do come with seals and no need to buy seals separately, or am i missing something. Also the prices varies a lot on the oil filter housing, cheap ones needless to say is not as good as the more robust expensive ones!!!!

I was getting confused by the various companies & prices offered online for the Oil Filter housing and oil cooler. Frustrated i went to my local Audi dealer in Whetstone and bought the new items from there. Thank you Darren92 for the parts number, they made life easy. The seals and a new oil filter is included in the package, as assured by the parts manager Neil at Audi Whetstone.

Spoke to my mechanic, the new oil filter housing will get fitted on Saturday 8 june, it will be a big and messy whole day job. These items costs me over £500 from Audi dealer and i wanted peace of mind, and as they say, beggars cannot be choosers. i had to take this financial hit. :fearful:See pictures attached.
