Hey all.

I have been really struggling to get my chinese android head unit working with my A3 I recently acquired.

The car has the double din concert stereo and bose speakers/sub etc, from reading the forums I think it may be the full bose sound system. The head unit powers on and works great, its just the no sound issue I cannot get my head around. I have tried connecting the amp control wire as I was told the amp powers all the speakers, but this has not worked. I either have the wrong lead or I am overlooking something, If anyone has managed to get bose to work with a similar head unit it would be greatly appreciated!

If you need any more info, just let me know.

Cheers

First of all year of the A3 would help and type of connections, ISO or Quadlock?

A picture of the harness would help. The old head unit has the pins marked on the lid, so you should be able to see if there are 4 signal wires connecting to the 4 pins required for the amplifier signals.

And yes the amp wire should be connected, does the amp make any soud at all when that pin goes high to +12v to tell the amp to power up? There is a remote pin on the harness that connects.

Thanks for getting back to me.

So the year is 2009, my stereo has a quadlock connection see below picture of the car quadlock connector.

I am at work right now, once home I will take the other pictures and update my post.

Cheers

This might help you with the wiring, you need to make sure you are connecting to the 4 inputs and ground of the amp and sending 12v to switch the amp on.

Thank you. It would not edit my last post for some reason but I took some pictures.

The short blue wire is the amp one, i had originally joined this with the other blue amp wire. I had initially thought I done it wrong as there was no sound, so I cut it and plan to resolder.

Ignore that wiring guide, I have just figured out that was for my old Focus harness. The Audi one I purchased has a different layout, which may explain why I have been experiencing issues. I will see if I can get an accurate diagram, thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Thanks for being available to provide advice on this one

Mine is for Audi A3 2011 supplied with RNS @ navigation plus. BOSE system

Same predicament as Ryan 206 and exact same quad connector with the blue and green 12 female pin connector.

I tried the suggested connections but soon realized it was for a non Bose system .\ Also checking my harness to the radio I couldn’t find the combined Right & Left rear negative.

No sound whatsoever. My connector is not cooperating much as it is as the attached, but I built some lead testers and I am able to insert pins in the female side and couple with the blades on the right side connector.

Your help is much appreciated.
