Hi there. Just wondering if any one help me with my 2009 Audi A4 3.0tdi manual.. since owning it I’ve had an issue where on first start of the day it pulls really well rite through the rev range until I turn it off/back on again. Then it looses around 40% of its power. I can drive it as long as I want on first start with full power but as soon as I turn it off/on it will loose power.. A bit of info on my car, it’s been remapped before I bought it with dpf/swirl flap/egr delete. There is no engine warning lights or codes stored checked via vcds.. I’ve had it remapped again by a reputable company but it made no difference. I’ve also had an Audi specialist look at it. They had it flashed back to a factory map and found the throttle body was nacard and it had been mapped out. We thought this was the issue. So we replace the throttle body, had a new map uploaded to the car but still the issue remains.. The Audi specialists at this point we’re stumped! They said they can’t see any issues atall, on live data and all requested values are were they should be, with no faults what’s so ever.. they suggested it could be the ecu so I’ve also replaced this and it’s still the same.. This is now driving me mad. Any help or info will be much appreciated.

You say there’s no error codes on VCDS. What about live data, so you can compare the data from a standing start, to the second start when you’re actually down on power?

What did the Audi specialists say? To be honest mapping the ECU is out with my knowledge range, but have you checked obvious things like battery voltage, and fuel delivery? Anything damp on the diesel fuel return lines under the engine cover? When was the fuel filter last changed? Again I’d expect VCDS to register something somewhere such as fuel pressure, turbo fault, etc.

Also the replacement ECU, was that sold as tested? It would need to coded to the car, etc.
