Is it normal for the chain to make a slight noise on startup for about 0,5-1 second, snd then completely disappear… the previous owner said it was doing that for 7 years and the previous car he had also did the same just wanted to double check…
Yes. It takes a moment for oil pressure to build in the chain tensioners - a second or so. If the rattle persists for 3-4 seconds, or worse, be heard while running continuously, then it is in need of replacing.

That's perfectly acceptable of these engines, particularly with decent to high mileage. Keep an eye ear out for excessive rattle going forward and enjoy the car
