Hi all, I see this is discussed across the internet but my circumstances (not yet) don't appear as severe, but wanted to get some advice before I bowl in to Audi.
Driving a longish distance and car running fine as it has been for the last month. Overtook another car (not ragging it as I never do) but with some extra power , as I indicated back on nearside lane and laid off the pedal, I had the gearbox malfunction flash up saying can still drive. This error went away after 4 seconds.
This obviously prompted me to pull in to the nearest service station and calm down...I had no loss of gears, or stalls or anything like that.
Started up the engine and carried on, testing the manual shifting, and back to auto, and then sport, no skipping of gears. No return of the error.
Drove the car back the whole distance, and all fine as far as now.
This appears to be an early indication of something potentially bad, so would appreciate any advice on my next move(s) please.
Thanks in advance.
