Hi All,
Sorry if this is just another retrofit seat thread, I have been doing my research on the forum but there are so many posts about so many different seats and quite a few didn't go into that much detail.
So
I have a 2008 (facelift I believe) 8P Sportback Sport, it has full leather interior, fronts are in great condition, rear are clean but very saggy, but my problem is with the front, mainly mine as the driver!! they just are not comfortable, that may be the wrong word, supportive may be better, I cannot get myself in to a position where I'm comfy and supported, mainly my right leg on the accelerator (not use to this type of accelerator, but that is another matter) there doesn't appear to be any support under my right knee and there is no adjustment that will help, I'm far from tall, but it's causing me a problem, my leg is just killing after my daily commute and the driving position does not feel nice or right!! I have seen quite a few comments about the seats in the 8P but mainly from a back issue, that for me is fine.
So what are my options regarding retrofitting seats? I've seen all sorts! but what's the easiest / best options? i guess the easiest is some seats from another 8P but feel i will have the same issue, so what else? if I am swapping the front I want to also swap the rear which isn't all that nice, I would like heated (they are not heated now) I know this involves wiring and coding which I have no problem with, i did a lot when I had my A5 (but there were more tutorials on the A5 than I can find on the A3), heated seats aren't a must but while I'm doing it would be nice. If it's possible I don't really want seats that are embossed with S-Line or S3, etc, my car is one of those and I don't want to portray it any different, I just think it will look odd with my car being totally standard! so this makes things quite a bit harder, I don't mind if full or half leather (but assume most heated are full leather).
Looking on the forum I believe the Audi A5 Sportback front seats, with the Golf GTI MK6 rear seats, are probably the easiest retrofit to do?
I believe the 8V rear will not fit the 8P rear with swapping the bench bases over, not afraid of doing that, stripped seats before and there are no airbags to worry about, but is the rear uprights/backs a direct fit?
I would love some advice, what are the best seats for leg support and being comfy (I had an A5 sport and they were leather, I never had any issues, but felt it was a different seating position and auto so this combined may make a difference), i would also love to see your photos, what have you done? (an indicative price would be appreciated, but rude asking I know) .
Here are some photos of my current seats
Your help and advice is really appreciated Thaks Chris
