Hi,
I’ve read the various posts on the forum regarding the lack of adjustment for the sub woofer.
My car, a 2018/19 model, comes with the *** but as others have found it does not have adjustment for the sub woofer. There seems to be conflicting information on this and I’m wondering if anybody ever got a definitive answer from Audi whether or not *** (not the Bang & Olfsen setup) should have adjustment. I do have the sub woofer in the boot ok but only the standard Treble/Bass/ balance/fader and Sound Effects settings. The latter only allows change from “all” to “front” with no option for “rear.
Thanks
I'm surprised that cars as late as 2018/19 still don't have the subwoofer adjustment - I was under the impression (though that's all it was) that the lack of the sub control was an issue which had affected a certain number of cars beginning with the earliest of the facelift ones, but one which had been rectified since.
Obviously not.
I've spent a not inconsiderable amount of time trying to get to the bottom of this, and drawn a blank.
For Audi to say definitively that the affected cars should have the adjustment would be a step in the right direction, if only because it would constitute a tacit admission that something is wrong with them.
In all the conversations I've had with customer services, nobody has ever said that in so many words.
The last time I was in contact with them, the person I was dealing with had made (or said he'd made) exhaustive enquiries with the Head Of Subwoofer Adjustment in the technical department, and the result of those enquiries was essentially that yes, there are indeed ***-equipped cars which do not have the subwoofer adjustment, but that the factory has no plans to provide any remedial updates to rectify the situation.
And that was pretty much that. I'd have taken on the role of championing a better solution if I had the time or if the lack of sub adjustment in my car (a 2017 MY Sportback which I got two years ago) was becoming unbearably annoying.
As it is, I'm afraid I've admitted to myself that, while really irritating, it isn't worth me getting all wound up about it, and I've reluctantly accepted it for what it is.
That doesn't mean that I don't feel a bit cheated by not having something that ought to be there (and not least because the instruction book says it should), because I do.
It's a poor show all round, and if you are minded to pick up the cudgels on behalf of all the other ***-equipped car owners who are similarly miffed, then I wish you all the luck in the world.
There is one last little thing. Customer services told me on more than one occasion that there had actually been very few complaints to them about this issue. Now they could be fibbing, but if they aren't, I can't understand why more people havent kicked up a fuss about it.
There must be hundreds of owners affected by this, after all, and based on personal experience, since it would appear that a dealership investigating the lack of the sub control will not escalate it internally as a matter of course, surely the next action would be to get on the blower to Audi in Milton Keynes?
