Cut down Number Plates

I'm looking at getting some new number plates for my car, and looking at the some cut down ones that look to still be legal for UK roads. Has anyone got cut down plates and had any issues with them from Police?

I got a set of short plates on my s3 lovely finishing touch and never had any problems with the police

I've got a 5 digit numberplate but decided to fit a plate the size of 6 digits as this gives a bit more space around the outside.
They are metal pressed and the quality is Excelent!

I have short pressed plates but want to go smaller and get it off the grille so I've ordered a short sticker plate which I plan to cut the smallest possible size....

Looks so much better than having a five digit number on a full size plate
