I am currently looking for an s3 2011/2012 models and would like to know if anyone can give me any info on any problems with any of the engines etc before i commit to buy one. The reason i ask is i have heard a few rumours that the normal 1.8 & 2.0l tfsi engines have problems with the piston rings and they could need replacing and i want to know if this issue is the same on the s3's.
A friend of mine has a 1.8tfsi a3 and it is using alot of oil and he is topping it up after 400mile, he has had it to audi and they have told him it needs new pistons and rods! so i just want to know if anyone has had a similar problem with the s3 engines on the year im looking at buying.
