Which shell oil for S3?

I've got a Audi S3 8P, and I'm planning on using shell Ultra professional or hv7 (any specific differences?) 5W 30W – My question is does it have to be the VW spec or can it be the AF or AG etc?

Shell Helix Ultra ECT C2 C3 0W30
Shell Helix Ultra ECT 5W30
Shell Helix Ultra Professional AV-L 0W30
Shell Helix Ultra Professional AV-L 5W30

All VW 504.00 spec .

But VW's own brand Quantum-Longlife III will be cheaper .

Whats the difference then between the same 5w - 30w shell helix oil but AF AG compared to VW 504?
