Wassup boys, my wallets taken a beating!
It's been a busy week for the DTM, it's had some repair & maintenance work done.
I've had a problem with my temp gauge reading low & the heat not blowing very hot. I changed the temp sensor myself but no joy. Just my luck it had to be the more complicated thermostat job.
I thought I'd be best to bring the timing belt job forward from next year just in case there was a fault with the waterpump too. I'm definitely not knowledgeable enough to even try & attempt this job, so I'll leave it to my trusty mechanic. TPS tb belt & waterpump, auxiliary belt, stat & coolant bought (£220 with £20 back for old pump), my mechanic went to work. I'm happy to say all is back to normal.
Got a spanking new 12 months ticket with only cv boot to do. Yep I'm a wuss, I got my mechanic to do it at the same time as tb belt service. £250 for all the labour inc the cv boot, not too bad I think. I made sure to keep receipts & get the service book stamped for the tb service.
Finally some jobs I can do. A full service was done. Oil, recharge induction kit, all filters inc fuel & ngkbkr7 plugs. I also fitted S4 caliper clips & gave the car a good clean.
Sorry guys I didn't get any pics of the maintenance work, but here's a few of the clips & some of the DTM cleaned up. I like to clean my car but I'm far from anal about it. With a everyday car & two kids it's no point going crazy because in three days it'll be filthy again.
Here's hoping for a trouble free 2017 motoring year, she owes me. Thanks for looking!
