do we think they would look ok on a completely standard 2005, A3 ?

Try to search through original-felgen.com ... They could be from A4 B8 (maybe allroad) - http://www.original-felgen.com/8k0601025b8z8.html
ET45 7.5" wide would look the best on standard, better than ET50+ and not agricultural. Tires are bit large 225/50R17, but I think it will work fine..

Answered your other thread you started.
They are off an A4 B8 SE, I have a set on my car at the moment An A4 B8, use them as winter wheels.
Part number 8K0601025B they are 7.5 * 17 ET 45 . 5 X112 PCD with a 66.5mm centre bore.
So if you were going to use them on an older A4 or A6 then they would need some 57.1 - 66.5mm spigot rings.

Changing to a 45 offset wheel would move the existing rim out 11mm.

Have a look here for wheels, you can buy a complete set of 4 brand new for not much more than £260.

Did a quick photochop, yeah it would benefit from lowering but I do think the rims update the look.
